If you want to be a hero, you can’t be a legend, and this little guy, who is just eight years old, is the perfect example. The decision to sell Bryson Kliemann’s Pokémon card collection was made without hesitation when the dog that he had got unwell. He did this in order to save the dog’s life. What a tremendous act of kindness that ultimately resulted in the puppy’s life being spared because of his devoted companion!
Although Bryson had always had a deep affection for animals, his family was unable to get a puppy due to financial constraints. On the other hand, the boy’s dream was granted in March of 2021 when his family acquired Bruce, a devoted labrador-mix puppy who was just four months old.

As the mother Kimberly Woodruff said in an interview with TODAY, “My child has been requesting a dog for a very long time.” When we made the decision to buy our home, he was overjoyed because he knew that it would allow us to obtain a dog. He was looking forward to it.
The fact that Bryson and his two other brothers were finally allowed to share their home with a puppy brought them a great deal of delight. Bryson was by far the one who was immediately closest to Bruce due to the fact that everyone was so excited about his arrival. Within a short period of time, the two became inseparable friends. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Bruce became gravely sick a few weeks after the family discovered the news. It was determined that he had developed parvo, a disease that is very dangerous.
The family was in a difficult financial situation, and the costs associated with the hospital were rather significant (about 700 dollars), so they anticipated the worst. Bryson, on the other hand, was adamant about not giving up on his best buddy and came up with a plan to earn money in order to preserve his life.
“When you get home from school today, I told him that Bruce was sick and warned him that he could be at the veterinarian’s office or in heaven,” Bryson’s mother said. “I told him that he was sick.”

On the other hand, when Bryson got home from school, he reported to his parents that he would be selling his precious Pokémon cards in order to help Bruce. Because of this, he decided to put up a booth by the side of the road in Lebanon, Virginia, not too far from his home, and he hung a sign that said “4Sale Pokemon.” As a result of the boy’s gesture, his mother was overcome with emotion.
The explanation that she provided was that “he is such a wonderful guy who loves to help people,” but that “they are his belongings.” Since he was four years old, he has been dedicated to the collection of Pokémon cards, and they are the most valuable item he has.
It wasn’t long before everyone in the neighborhood became aware of Bryson’s tale, and they hurried to provide assistance to him as soon as they heard it. It wasn’t enough for them to just purchase his cards; some of them even gave him their own to sell in order to assist him in saving his sick pet. Within a span of less than three days, the unselfish youngster was able to raise roughly $400. On the other hand, there was going to be more.
His mother made the decision to share a picture of him selling his cards on the side of the road in support of this deserving cause, and she also established a GoFundMe campaign in the hopes of meeting their aim of $800 raised via the campaign. The extraordinary tale of Bryson, however, moved many to tears, and within a short period of time, they got more than twenty-five thousand dollars in contributions.

It was because of his devoted buddy that Bruce was able to preserve his life. In order to assist other pet owners who are unable to afford their veterinarian expenses, Woodruff has been putting the monies that he has received to use.
By saying, “I hope that this story will inspire people to remember that there is still good in the world,” she expressed her wish. “The outpouring of sympathy for a little kid and his dog in Lebanon, Virginia, comes as a complete and utter surprise to me. “Who would have thought that?”
