The role of a fireman is to ensure that the citizens of their town feel secure. This includes not just putting out fires or saving lives, but also convincing them that everything will be OK after an event has occurred.
It is common for firefighters to come into contact with individuals who have gone through a traumatic event, such as the loss of a house or an accident. In these kinds of circumstances, having great people skills and a presence that is both powerful and comforting is essential.
This was the circumstance that arose around two firemen… who proved that getting a manicure could be the most macho thing a guy can do, and who demonstrated that idea.
A automobile accident prompted the department to take action. They found a little girl who was wailing, despite the fact that she had not been hurt in the crash but was horrified by the experience.
Attempts were made by the firemen to cheer her up and alleviate her concerns. After seeing that she was carrying two bottles of nail polish, they had a conversation with her about the matter on the spot.
Following that, they went one step further and offered to let her paint their nails of their own will!
The present was both nice and thoughtful. It is likely that these firemen do not have their nails done very often, but the fact that they did it provided the youngster with something to do that would divert her attention away from the calamity.
In addition, it was a complete success.
According to a post made on Facebook by the North Davis Fire District, “Within minutes, the child was calmly painting their nails and had forgotten about the accident she had just experienced.”
