At times when we are least expecting them, life often surprises us with unexpected events. In one moment, you are going about your normal routine, and the next, you find yourself in the middle of an exciting adventure. This was a lesson that a couple from Florida learnt the hard way when they were rebuilding their house.
When Bobby Kapsidis was in the process of rebuilding his kitchen, he was presented with a profound revelation. Bobby watched as drywall and insulation dropped to the ground on the floor as he was cutting into the ceiling. A new object was found in the hole, in addition to the pieces of construction debris that had been placed there.
Bobby was attempting to get a better look at the object when it dropped and struck him in the face where he was standing.
The homeowner, who was perplexed by the object, eventually recognized that it was a luxurious Cuban pocketbook fashioned from alligator leather. When Bobby and Megan, his wife, opened it, they found what at first glance seemed to be an old picture book.

The book, which was commemorating the wedding of Joseph and Marguerite Garguilo, was emblazoned with the words “Our Children’s Wedding.” The breathtaking photographs provided a breathtaking glimpse into a bygone era. Upon doing more research, Bobby and Megan came to the realization that the Garguilos had been married for more than half a century.

One of the wedding invitations was tucked away in the pages of the book, and it said that the ceremony will take place on September 14, 1963. At the St. Thomas Apostle Church in Woodhaven, New York, the couple exchanged their vows, and the Brooklyn Navy Yard served as the location for the celebration.
As soon as the Kapsidis discovered the album, they were aware that they needed to make an effort to find the Garguilos in order to return the item. Megan started a comprehensive search with the use of social media. While Megan was posting some of the photographs on Facebook, she discovered the Garguilos’ phone number. She was under the impression that she had struck gold, but she later discovered that the line was disconnected.

At the same time that they were pointing out the possibility that they were the only memory the Garguilos had of the event, the Kapsidis felt that the quest was very personal.
After making a request for assistance to the media, Inside Edition was able to aid the couple in locating Marguerite, who is now staying in a facility in Florida that provides assisted living services. Unfortunately, Joseph went away from Parkinson’s illness a number of years ago during his lifetime.

Inside Edition was also successful in locating a different cousin of the Garguilos, who revealed to the reporters that Joseph and Marguerite had not been married for a very long time when they divorced.
After learning what had transpired with the Garguilos, Megan expressed her dissatisfaction and referred to it as a “bummer.” In spite of this, Megan is still holding out hope that she will be able to return the album to a member of the Garguilo family. She believes that something of this kind should never be thrown up in the garbage.
