The producer mentioned that one of the primary reasons he wanted to quit the show was because he was growing older and wanted to spend more time with his children. This was one of the reasons why he wanted to leave the program.
Initially, Harmon intended to quit the program sometime between the 15th and 16th season, but Johnson said that at that time, “he was so loyal to that crew and so supportive of the show.” Even though he had no intention of staying on for as long as he did, he was quite proud of it.
A conversation between Harmon and Entertainment Tonight took place in November 2023. The purpose of the conversation was to promote Harmon’s book, which was titled “Ghosts of Honolulu: A Japanese Spy, A Japanese American Spy Hunter, and the Untold Story of Pearl Harbor.” During the course of the chat, he spoke about the moment when the job was given to him, and he said that he had originally not anticipated that he would have any kind of connection to the program.
The confession that he made was that when he originally read the screenplay, he did not anticipate like it as much as he did.

Fortunately, the creator was ultimately persuaded to make the modification, and the actor was “happy about it” and enthusiastically took the part that has since become legendary.
