During her visit on The View on Tuesday, Sarah Paulson couldn’t keep herself from gushing over her partner Holland Taylor.
During an appearance she made to promote her new Broadway show, Appropriate, the actress spoke about her relationship with Taylor, which has lasted for eight years. She said that Taylor is the reason why everything in her life now makes sense.
“I am thrilled and I feel very lucky to be with a person who is smarter, wiser, wittier than I, and that just makes my life great in every possible way” pointed out Paulson. “It makes me want to be a better person and a fully realized person.”
Paulson said at 48: “She just also makes me feel seen, which I think is the most important gift you can give to any person.”
In December of 2015, Paulson and Taylor, who is 80 years old, made the first public announcement on their relationship. The two famous people first crossed paths at a party in 2005, but it wasn’t until a decade later, when they reunited via social media, that they began dating one other.
Paulson disclosed this information to The View’s Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. “I actually had her picture on my refrigerator for 10 years before we were together — which sounds strange,” Paulson said.
She went on to say that they were at a dinner party with a group that included Oscar winner Allison Janney and the late playwright Buck Henry when they saw a Lamborghini parked outside the restaurant. The gathering included Allison Janney, who won an Oscar, and Buck Henry, who passed away. Henry took the shot, which was later described by Paulson as follows: “We walked out and were like, ‘What?’ and we all jumped on top of the car and took this picture,” Paulson said. “He sent us all copies and it was on my refrigerator in my little apartment in West Hollywood for 10 years before we [dated], so it was weird….”
When Behar asked Paulson whether she had a crush on Taylor at the time, Paulson strongly denied that this was the case. “Maybe something was percolating and it was unbeknownst to me but there she was in my kitchen!,” according to Paulson.
The actress continued by saying, “She’s great.” “She’s great,”
Since coming public with their relationship, Paulson and Taylor have shown their mutual support for one another by attending premieres and award ceremonies together, standing hand in hand on the red carpet, and recording the joys of their love in endearing social media postings.
During an interview with Radio Andy’s Sandyland in January 2017, Taylor discussed her relationship with Paulson. She gushed that Paulson made her feel like “the luckiest person in the world.”
“I must say it has to be part of what has to be the greatest thing in my life, is the whole embrace of this wonderful relationship which makes all of it make sense,” said the actress. “I can’t talk about my life today and not mention this wonderful love.”
