Emily Wickersham, an actress from Hollywood who was born in Kansas on April 26, 1984, is best known for her role as Special Agent Eleanor Bishop on the hit television series “NCIS.” Wickersham is now 39 years old. After the departure of the fan favorite Cote de Pablo, she was cast in the long-running program.
As a result of De Pablo’s departure, there was a significant amount of upheaval on the program, particularly with regard to the production, which had already been well under way when her contract discussions were terminated after she had spent eight years working on the series. Gary Glasberg, the showrunner for the series, decided to implement a deliberate transition rather than simply replacing Ziva David (the role played by co-star Cote de Pablo).
The new agent that Glasberg created was supposed to be as radically different from David as was humanly conceivable. There were several talented actresses from other cities, including London, New York, and Los Angeles, who were considered for the part.
Four individuals were selected from a talent pool of about one hundred to participate in on-screen auditions with Mark Harmon and the other performers cast in the series. Wickersham was one of the actresses who had made it to the final four, and Glasberg said the following about her performance:
“…she does this fantastic scene with Mark Harmon that left us all looking saying, ‘I think that’s it.'”
The college dropout who confronted her anxieties by enrolling in acting courses and practicing her public speaking also faced scrutiny off-camera from the other members of the ensemble. Even while Wickersham was being vetted in between scenes and at lunch breaks, Sean Murray, who plays the role of Special Agent Timothy McGee, said that she was more than capable of tackling anything was put in front of her.
Wickersham, an actress who had her big break on one of the most popular television series, really cherished the opportunity to portray the part she was cast in. During an interview conducted a few years back, Wickersham enthused over her time spent on “NCIS,” saying things like:
“You know, I really like it, and it’s been a lot of fun to do. I’ve been a part of the…show for a total of five seasons, and getting to perform every day is a pretty great opportunity.”
Wickersham departed from her role and left the program after having spent over eight years on the show and having appeared in 172 episodes. In May of 2021, a member of the cast of “Gone” made the announcement on social media that she was leaving “NCIS.”
She uploaded a trio of monochrome photographs, all of which showed her in various guises while she was working on the set. The photographs displayed some candid views taken behind the scenes of Wickersham when he was acting.
Wickersham was represented in the first two images as having a wide grin on her face, and the last picture showed her having a serious conversation with someone who is likely the show’s director. Her sincere comment conveyed how glad she was to be a part of the series and how much she cherished the chance to work with incredible individuals. It also indicated how much she liked getting to work with them.
It is reasonable to assume that Wickersham has gone through a lot of transitions during her time on “NCIS,” given all of the exciting new events that have taken form in her life since her appearances on the show.
Wickersham also mentioned how unusual it was for an actor to enjoy constancy in a career that is notoriously fickle. He said this was because of the nature of the industry. The following was written in another portion of her message:
“…I’ve had the good fortune to be a part of a production in which I’ve had the opportunity to show up and perform, as well as laugh and learn with some fantastic folks. A split second in time that I will never, ever forget. I would want to express my gratitude to CBS and NCIS for giving me the opportunity to be a part of television history.
In addition to her role on “NCIS,” Wickersham was married to musician Blake Hanley during this time period. In spite of everything, the couple decided to break their marriage in December of 2018.
Hanley went on to play at a music festival after returning to his hometown after living in Los Angeles with his ex-wife, which was exactly one year after the pair had finalized their divorce. During the course of an interview, he opened up about the impact of the divorce on him. The artist said the following about his separation with Wickersham:
“It was strange coming home after being gone for such a long period. I had been through a lot of tough times emotionally. It has been a year…it has been a trip” Considering all that has happened to me, it has been a year.
Despite this, Hanley was able to find happiness with another lady some time after they ended their relationship. In addition, he took on the role of parenthood when he and his partner brought a daughter into the world together.
Wickersham was able to get over her ex and discover new love, just as she did with him. The former star of “NCIS” is now seeing another actor, James Badge Dale, and the two have been together for some time.
In December of 2021, the couple had their first child, a boy named Cassius. Wickersham, the doting mother bear, swooned in response to his arrival:

It is reasonable to assume that Wickersham has gone through a lot of transitions during her time on “NCIS,” given all of the exciting new events that have taken form in her life since her appearances on the show. Another factor that contributed to the transformations she has undergone since then was when she chose to experiment with coloring her hair a different way.
Her admirers recognized her from the program by her signature blonde hair for the whole of her stint on it. However, the actress of “I Am Number Four” shocked the fans by becoming brunette a year ago when she debuted her new appearance.
She changed her hair color from its natural blonde to a dark brown hue and uploaded images of herself sporting the new look on her social media accounts. The question “[D]o brunettes have more fun?” appeared in one of her captions.
In spite of the fact that Wickersham dyed her hair a dark brown hue for a period of time, she eventually went back to having blonde hair in July of this year.
Regarding this year, the mother, who just had a hair color change and is now blonde again, and her boyfriend will soon be celebrating the second birthday of their son at the end of December.
