When Minnie Graham started telling her family that there were issues at the nursing home she was staying at in Garland, Texas, she had already been there for a few years. The great-great-grandmother, who was 98 years old, complained to members of her family that she was being abused by the personnel at the nursing facility where she was staying. She said that one of the workers who was responsible for her care was much more abusive than the others.

Within a short period of time following that, Minnie’s body was covered with bruises, and she had a black eye. In quest of explanations, her relatives went to the nursing home where she was staying. Minnie’s family members were informed by staff personnel at the nursing home that she had fallen out of her wheelchair. They pointed to the fall as the cause of the unexpected injuries that the elderly man, who was 98 at the time, sustained. However, Minnie’s grandchildren did not believe what their grandmother was saying.
Minnie’s family was adamant about uncovering the truth about what was taking on with her. They came to the conclusion that the best way to monitor Minnie’s activities would be to install a covert camera in the form of a clock in her room. The family gathered around the webcam to keep an eye on Minnie as they waited for an explanation of what was going on. They quickly discovered the solution to the puzzle, and upon hearing it, they were both terrified and disgusted.
Brenda Tiller, a hospice worker who was assigned to Minnie, entered the room in which the 98-year-old lady was staying one night and immediately proceeded to act aggressively and violently against Minnie. She violently tugged on Minnie’s arm and then threw the elderly lady back into the bed after she had been removed from it. Minnie received many slaps to the face as a result of her stubborn defiance in the face of the assault.

Tiller insulted the elderly lady and mocked her in front of her. After that, she stuffed a towel into the woman’s mouth that she had previously used to dry herself off after bathing. Minnie was attacked by more than one employee at the nursing home, and Tiller was not among them. Louis, a male employee, was also caught on tape squeezing the elderly lady and was one of the people that hit her.

After doing some investigation, the family discovered that their predicament was not an unusual one. To make matters even worse, the government agencies who are responsible for ensuring the residents in nursing homes are kept safe did not provide much assistance. Minnie passed away roughly a month after the video footage of her torture was made available. Minnie’s grandchildren are confident that the way she was treated negatively impacted her desire to live.
