It is common knowledge that members of military families pay the ultimate sacrifice for their country. It is never simple for them, as they are required to put their lives in danger while serving their country on the battlefield and spend lengthy amounts of time away from their loved ones.

Decca Records wished to show their appreciation for the sacrifices made by the families of service members. Therefore, they decided to hold a talent hunt for the families of those serving in the Armed Forces in the United Kingdom. According to what was published in The Telegraph, the search was restricted to youngsters who either had a parent or a brother who was serving in the military in the United Kingdom or abroad.
The search committee received applications from thousands of youngsters, but they could only accept sixty of them. 11 individuals from this total qualified for the final round. The Poppy Girls are a female group consisting of five young women who are all very outstanding.

These five young ladies are Megan Adams, who is 10 years old, Florence Ransom, who is also 10 years old, Bethany Davey, who is 15, Charlotte Mellor, who is 17, and Alice Milburn, who is 13 years old. The Poppy Girls gave a rendition of a song that was composed and sung by the American musician Regina Spektor. The title of the song is “The Call (No Need To Say Goodbye).”
During the Festival of Remembrance hosted by the Royal British Legion, the song with a hauntingly lovely melody was presented for the very first time. At this posh event, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was one of the distinguished attendees.

The second Sunday of November is set aside to honor those who died while serving their country during World War I and is known as the Festival of Remembrance. The day is commemorated by a number of different events, some of which include musical performances, religious services, the laying of wreaths and poppies, and the laying of wreaths and poppies.
