In the movie “The Devil Wears Prada,” Anne Hathaway plays the role of a clueless fashion intern; nevertheless, in real life, she is considered to be a fashion industry favorite.
On Monday, the Oscar winner presented the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City while wearing an outfit that was fresh off the catwalk from the Ralph Lauren spring/summer 2024 collection.
The daring two-piece costume consisted of a denim corset and a long denim skirt that reached all the way down to the floor and had a watercolor flower motif in shades of blue. She finished off the ensemble by accessorizing with some glittering Bulgari jewelry, which was appropriate given that she is an ambassador for the company.

In recent years, Hathaway has built a name for herself in the fashion business owing to a so-called “fashion renaissance” that has propelled her to the top of best-dressed lists all around the world. The actress often gives appreciation to her stylist Erin Walsh for assisting her in taking the “right risk.”
The couple has pulled off some unforgettable ensembles, such as a Versace dress that looked like it had just walked off the catwalk at this year’s Academy Awards or an all-leopard getup for a date night in January.
Earlier this year, the actress and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador sat down with PEOPLE to chat on how Walsh has made her “braver” when it comes to design choices. Walsh was the subject of their conversation.
“In this moment, everybody’s taking risks, and I feel like there’s more than one way to do it right now, which means that you don’t have to hit a mark, you just have to be yourself — and that feels wonderful,” Hathaway added. “In this moment, everybody’s taking risks.”
The actress has also acknowledged that Gen-Z is responsible for creating a carefree attitude toward fashion.

“We don’t take it too seriously,” Hathaway stated of her work with Walsh, referring to their relationship. “This is not a practice run; this is your real life,” the speaker said.
In addition to presenting the awards presentation, Hathaway also collaborated with designer Narciso Rodriguez to give the award for American womenswear designer of the year.
Due to unexpected circumstances, Sarah Jessica Parker, who had been scheduled to host the awards presentation, was forced to cancel. As a result, Hathaway was given the opportunity to take over the hosting responsibilities.
