Maren Morris’s parents, Scott and Kellie Morris, have been a constant source of encouragement and support for their daughter throughout her career. They made sacrifices and pushed her to keep pushing forward in spite of the difficulties she had in getting her profession off the ground.
The first time that Maren Morris’s parents, Scott and Kellie Morris, heard her sing, she was probably between the ages of nine and 10. When she surprised everyone with her incredible voice, she was using the karaoke machine that a friend had given her to check out.
Kellie said that when she first heard her daughter, her first thought was that it was the radio. Both she and Scott were quick to see Maren’s talent, and they supported her decision to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter. Since then, the supportive pair has stood by her side, supporting her on in all of her endeavors.

Soon after seeing Maren sing, Scott and Kellie inspired her to begin composing and performing music by gifting her a guitar shortly after hearing her perform. They educated themselves about the business, and as Maren improved her abilities via practice sessions with her father, they began arranging modest engagements for her all around the state of Texas.
When their daughter was 14 years old, Scott and Kellie sold a lot of their household furniture to help pay for the recording of her debut album. They came together in support of her endeavors to compete on “America’s Got Talent,” “American Idol,” and “The Voice,” but she was never able to get beyond the audition stage of any of the competitions.
Maren had the same lack of success with record companies. “I mean, I can’t tell you how many times we were that close to thinking a record deal was going to come, and it didn’t,” the child’s mother said. Kellie urged her to persevere in spite of the negative responses she had received when she was working part-time at their family salon.
The parents of Maren Morris gave their salon the name of one of their children.
The beauty institution known as Maren Karsen Aveda Salon & Store was founded by Scott and Kellie more than twenty years ago, and now the couple owns and operates it together as business partners. Aveda, the brand name under which they sell a range of hair care and coloring products, is also one of their product lines.
Scott said that they exclusively use items made by Aveda, which he explained were organically produced from different plants and flowers. Despite the fact that Maren’s employment took her away from home on a regular basis, her parents always made sure to send her an Aveda care package.
The Respect That Maren Morris Has for Her Mother
During the month of May in 2022, Maren raved over her mother, citing her as an influential individual who had a role in developing her personality. The singer said that Kellie had a difficult childhood but nevertheless managed to carve out a successful career for herself “without even a college degree.”
“She’s just such a street-smart go-getter, and so I feel like that’s been instilled in me from day one because of my mom,” said Maren, whose height has been a topic of discussion. “I feel like that’s been instilled in me from day one because of my mom.” By that time, she was already the mother of her son, Hayes, whom she shared with her husband, Ryan Hurd.
At one point, Maren referred to both her and Ryan as the “lighthouse” for Hayes and the person he was developing into. In October of 2023, however, it became public knowledge that Sarah had submitted a petition for divorce from Ryan, alleging “irreconcilable differences.”
