At the 2023 God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards, which took place in New York City, ET had a conversation with the pair.
The twins that Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka have raised to this point are a source of pride for both of their parents.
ET’s Rachel Smith sat down with the pair on Monday night at the 2023 God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards in New York City. During their conversation, they discussed their twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott, who just turned 13 years old and are enjoying a milestone birthday.
“We keep being told that at a certain point, they’re going to hate us,” said Harris facetiously. “That has not taken place as of yet. To tell you the truth, things are looking up!
Burtka echoed the feelings of his spouse when he made the observation, “They’re excellent kids. We have performed really well. You know, if you put in the effort, you’re going to get something out of it, right?
Burtka discussed the method that he and Harris use to connect with their children and parent their children. He said, “I mean, if you’re going to spend time with your kids — they have access to you, so the more access they have to you, the more they can open up.” Harris and Burtka have three children.
In the meanwhile, considering that Halloween celebrations are drawing near, do you know whether they have any plans to put together a costume for the whole family this year?
“We thought that they were not going to be into it after 10 years old but they are into it!” Burtka yelled out in surprise. “I think they like the attention — they’re children of actors,” he said facetiously.
In previous years, Harris and Burtka have made a name for themselves by dressing their children and other family members in costumes based on popular films like “The Wizard of Oz,” “Frankenstein,” “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” “Star Wars,” and others.
The twins Harris and Burtka have disclosed that they personally chose their costumes for this year’s Halloween celebration! The pair said that it is a reference to a topic that they have recently been studying in school, but they did not want to give away the surprise, so they told their admirers to keep a look out for their yearly Halloween photo.
Scarlett Johansson and Ben Platt were recognized at the 2023 God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards event, which took place at The Glasshouse in New York City. The ceremony honored the actors for their efforts on behalf of causes like AIDS, cancer, food, hunger, and inclusiveness.
Cooking and delivering particularly designed and nutritious meals to persons who are unable to go out shopping or cook for themselves is the primary objective and function of the organization. Meals are prepared and delivered to recipients’ homes.
