The introduction of Jane Seymour and her lover, John Zambetti, was made possible by the couple’s children.
The actress, who is 72 years old, shared the story of how she and her musician lover met when they were in attendance at the Wags and Walks 12th Annual Benefit Gala on Saturday evening. The couple made their relationship public on Instagram earlier this month.
At the occasion, Zambetti told People in an exclusive interview that “Well, our kids put us together,” which was echoed by Seymour, who said, “Yes, our kids put us together.”
“So we certainly don’t have to worry about the kids not approving of who we were with,” Zambetti continued. “That’s a huge weight off our shoulders.” “I am very fortunate to be with her at this time.”
Seymour claims that the new man in her life “wrote me some love songs.” He composes songs and music. I believe that was the factor that determined my fate in the end.”
Zambetti continued by saying, “Just to seal the deal,” as Seymour cracked a joke and said, “Yeah.” So far, we have three. I have a feeling that there will be a new record coming out soon.”
The fact that their boys come from similar musical backgrounds is reportedly what brought the two parties together, and they think that this was a sign from the heavens that they were meant to be together.
His son is a member of a rock band known as The Palms, and he has achieved a great deal of success in his career. “And his name is Johnny Zambetti,” Seymour said to PEOPLE at the time. “And I have a son who is a rock musician as well, Johnny Keach, so when we talked about them, we said, ‘My Johnny,’ [since] they both have the same name,” Keach said.
Seymour has gone through the process of being married and then divorcing four times. She is the co-parent of her children Katherine, 41, and Sean Flynn, 38, with her ex-husband David Flynn. She is also the co-parent of her children John Stacy and Kristopher Steven, 27, with her ex-husband James Keach.
When it comes to spending time with her new partner, the two of them say that one of their favorite things to do together is “go to a lot of music things.”
According to what Zambetti said with PEOPLE, “I have a lot of friends who are musicians in town.” “It’s always fun to see them compete. And she never actually made it out to the dives to witness the real music, which is where it’s being played. There, you’ll find the serious competitors competing. Therefore, she adores it. She enjoys seeing new places and listening to all kinds of music.
“So I love introducing her to stuff that, even though she’s lived here for a long time, she really was unaware of that side of L.A.,” he said. “It’s so much fun.”
The previous week, Zambetti made her relationship with Seymour public on Instagram by posting images of the two of them standing poolside together.
Seymour, who is now dating in her 70s and has told PEOPLE that her current relationship has been “absolutely fantastic” so far, said that she started dating when she was in her 60s.
“I cannot even begin to describe how happy I am right now. The actress acknowledged that this was true in many respects.
Seymour also said that she and Zambetti have a sweet habit of commemorating the anniversary of their first date on the first day of every month since they have been together.
“At this point in your life, you aren’t going to wait another half a century, are you?” It was spoken by Seymour.
