The mother of a child afflicted by Down syndrome in the United States related her story. A woman named Rene said that she was given the option to give up her daughter Kennedy, who has Down syndrome, fifteen years ago. The medical professionals, according to Kennedy’s mother, created a gloomy image of the future for her daughter, informing her that her child would not have a normal life and would continue to wear diapers even after she became an adult. The medical professionals even suggested that the woman give up the child or put her in some kind of institution.
After having a distressing conversation with doctors, who informed her that she had given birth to a child with Down syndrome, Rene went to see a midwife the next day. Rene was given reason to be hopeful for the future when the midwife shared with her the news regarding her daughter.
But Kennedy’s battle was far from over; a few time later, she was told that she had leukemia and had surgery on her spine to correct irregularities that may result in paralysis. On the other hand, the manipulations turned out to be so successful that the girl is now dancing.
