Although transformation images are not a novel concept, Bonnie Norman’s pictures are not your run-of-the-mill before-and-after shots. After sustaining second-degree burns, Texas native Norman documented the metamorphosis of her skin on Reddit and shared it with the internet community.

In all, Norman uploaded four distinct photographs. The first one, which can be seen below, was captured not long after the occurrence. Her skin is seen to be scabbing and then healing in the second and third photographs. The most recent image reveals a few red areas, but generally the skin is much cleaner.

“Skin is amazing,” she said as the caption for the Reddit topic. Following an accident at work in which I sustained face burns, the following gallery documents the recovery process.

According to Norman, she works in a bakery, and she was injured when she was burnt by “a tray full of hot sugar glaze.” According to Norman, she went to the hospital following the event and was treated at the emergency department, where the medical staff had a difficult time distinguishing between her skin and sugar.

In spite of the fact that it was a distressing ordeal, Norman said in an e-mail to INSIDER that she wanted to share the improvement in the condition of her skin with other people.

She stated, “I found the healing process so interesting and amazing, and I figured other Redditors would, too.” “I found the healing process so interesting and amazing.” “The dramatic improvement in the photos really shocked me, as well as reassured me that I was getting better,” I said to myself after looking at the photos.

According to Norman, the treatment that she had in the hospital was satisfactory, and the personnel took excellent care of her. She said on Reddit that the only treatment she required was a topical antibiotic ointment that she used everyday. She continues to work in the bakery, although these days she focuses only on cake decorating.

“I hope people learn both the dangers of cooking in professional kitchens as well as the knowledge that the human body has a vast capability for healing and things are not as bad as they might seem,” she added. “I hope people learn both the dangers of cooking in professional kitchens as well as the knowledge that the human body has a vast capability for healing.”

Her metamorphosis is not just a demonstration of how strong our bodies are, but also of the power that can be harnessed via maintaining a good mindset.
