Nicole Kidman went from having a loving family to being distant from her children, who refused to call her “mom.” This caused a rift in their relationship, which ultimately led to their divorce. Kidman did not even bother to attend the weddings of her own children. However, she never gave up trying to restore those relationships, demonstrating that the love of a mother can heal even the most severe scars.

Decades ago, the mysterious love affair that Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise had gradually became revealed like the storyline of an exciting film. Their story of falling in love on the set of “Eyes Wide Shut” and going on to adopt two children together was one that captivated the attention of people all around the globe. But even the most captivating tales are capable of taking a sharp turn in an unexpected direction at any moment.

Not only did Cruise and Kidman become a power couple, but they also became parents to Isabella and Connor Cruise, who were adopted in the years 1992 and 1995, respectively. Cruise is a magnetic actor, while Kidman is an always attractive actress. The world gawked in astonishment as the pair represented their searing chemistry on the silver screen, and it was widely regarded as an inspiration. It was almost like something out of a fairy tale.

However, things adopted a more serious tone once Tom Cruise initiated Nicole Kidman into the Scientology religion. Kidman did not choose to adhere to the religion’s principles, in contrast to Cruise, who fully embraced the faith. A rift in their formerly unbreakable friendship will eventually form as a result of their divergent religious beliefs.

In February of 2004, Tom Cruise made a cryptic announcement on the couple’s breakup, claiming, “Nicole knows why.” On the other hand, Kidman’s counsel provided a contradictory account, claiming that the divorce was not Kidman’s choice and that she was in a state of shock when it happened. Documents filed for divorce stated that Kidman had pleaded with Cruise to rethink their divorce and suggested that they attend marital therapy or take any other action to resolve their troubles.

The marriage ended as a result of Cruise’s unwavering determination. He said that they were divorced in December of 2000, but Kidman refuted this chronology by relating how they celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary on December 24 and how they had a sad loss thereafter.

Kidman bravely disclosed the tragic event that led to the dissolution of her marriage, which was a miscarriage that occurred during the marriage. Grief had plagued their efforts to create a family from the very beginning, since she had endured a “incredibly traumatic” ectopic pregnancy at the outset of their marriage. This made it difficult for them to conceive a child.

The Torturous Feelings of Isolation

After a court battle lasting seven months, they were finally able to complete their divorce and divide custody of their children amongst themselves. Despite this, Isabella and Connor made the decision to remain in Los Angeles in order to live with their father on a full-time basis when their mother relocated back to Australia. Both of the children followed in their father’s religious footsteps by becoming devoted Scientologists after being brought up in the Church of Scientology.

The rumored excommunication status of Kidman as a “SP” (Suppressive Person) put a wedge between her and her children. “SP” stands for “Suppressive Person.” Kidman disclosed this information in an interview she gave to GMTV in the year 2007, in which she said that her children did not call her “Mom,” but rather referred to her by her first name, Nicole.

The fact that Kidman was not there for her children’s weddings was perhaps the part of this alienation that was the most painful to deal with. According to reports, she was unaware of Bella’s wedding to the British IT specialist Max Parker in 2015. On the other side, Connor wed an Italian Scientologist named Silvia Zanchi, and according to reports, Kidman was “banned” from attending the ceremony by Cruise.

Despite these difficult chapters, Kidman stayed resolved to find a way to get in touch with her children, Bella, who is now 28 years old, and Connor, who is 26 years old. She affectionately referred to her children as her “lost babies.” In the year 2021, stories began to surface which suggested that she had not been working in vain.

According to many sources, ever since the start of the lockdowns at the beginning of 2020, Nicole Kidman has been in “close and regular contact” with her children. This is a substantial difference from the intermittent text exchanges that they had been having in the past.

A close friend of the family told them, “It took a worldwide epidemic to fix this bridge.” It was a terrifying period, but it helped break down the boundaries of communication since Nicole was in Australia, Bella was in London, and Connor was in Florida.

As adults, Bella and Connor have progressively repaired their connection with their mother, despite the fact that they have kept their strong links to Scientology throughout their lives. Kidman’s unflinching love and respect for her children, in addition to her uncompromising adherence to the deal she made with Tom, have been critical factors in the successful repair of their relationship.
