This event shines emphasis on the underlying risks that exist in Tohickon Creek and Lake Nockamixon, both of which severely forbid swimming owing to deep regions that might mislead swimmers into thinking they are not as deep as they really are. The chief of the Haycock Township Fire Department, Harry Grim, issued a warning about the dangers that are connected with these waters and urged people to stick to safety requirements and refrain from swimming in Lake Nockamixon, especially at this time of year when visibility is almost nonexistent.
This terrible event serves as a warning that there are hazards that might be hiding under the surface, even in seas that seem to be tranquil.
