Patty James has romantic expectations for her relationship with Gerry Turner.
On this season of The Golden Bachelor, Matt James is pulling for his mother to win. The original Bachelor, Arie Luyendyk Jr., went to his Instagram Story shortly after ABC revealed the participants for the first season of their senior-focused reality competition to share his thoughts on the fact that his mother, Patty James, will be one of the fortunate women competing for Gerry Turner’s affections.
Matt uploaded a picture of his mom’s stunning headshot on his Story and captioned it, “i ccc uuu mama.” As a show of support for his mother, who is now in her 70s and retired from the real estate industry, the ecstatic son proudly added the “heart on fire” emoticon to his post.
Patty hasn’t had a romantic relationship in about 30 years. She was previously married to Manny James, who is the father of Matt as well as Matt’s brother John. Patty kept on in her role as a single mother when she and Manny divorced while their children were still little.
Patty expressed her excitement about the impending adventure on her Instagram account, writing that it is “sooo exciting.” Patty was reacting to the thrilling news that was made.
In addition, Matt expressed his love and support for his mother by putting three emojis depicting a heart on fire in the comments area of her post.
Matt’s girlfriend, Rachael Kirkconnell, also left a remark on the post, adding that “she’s ready to find love.”
Patty is one of 22 women competing for Gerry’s (a 72-year-old retired restaurateur), whose heart belongs to 22 other women. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Gerry, a widower whose wife of more than four decades, Toni, passed away in 2017, detailed what he’s seeking for in a mate. As for which girl will be able to grab Gerry’s heart, he described what he’s searching for in a spouse.
“I think the one thing I’m going to look for is that look in the eye. I’m going to watch for that.” He added, “I’ve seen it before, and I’m familiar with the sensation I get when it’s there.” “If I see that, then that’s going to be the person that I’m going to pursue above all others,” the speaker said.
Gerry predicted that the unique someone he was looking for would possess “a great sense of humor, particularly something that is self-effacing.”
“I think I’m going to be looking for someone who is sensitive, who is warm and kind,” he continued. “I think that’s what I’m going to be looking for.” Someone who complements me nicely and makes me feel as if we are working together… I have experienced that previously in my life, and it is a very significant component.
