A child custody arrangement has been worked out between Halle Berry and her former partner, the French actor Olivier Martinez, some seven years after they were both officially deemed to be single.

ET has received copies of court paperwork which state that the Academy Award-winning actress will pay Martinez $8,000 per month in child support for their son, Maceo, who is 9 years old. Maceo is the kid they share. In addition to the child support that is paid on a monthly basis, Berry has agreed to pay Martinez 4.3% of any income she obtains that is more than $2 million “for additional child support for Maceo.”

In the same documents, which were submitted on Tuesday to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, it is stated that Berry, who shares both physical and legal custody of Maceo with Martinez, will pay for Maceo’s private school tuition, school uniforms and supplies, as well as one hundred percent of the cost of any extracurricular activities in which Maceo participates, such as soccer. In addition to that, she will be the one to provide Maceo with medical care via her own insurance.

According to the court filings, Berry has “voluntarily contributed to Martinez’s attorney’s fees and costs,” which means that he has paid around $55,000 toward Martinez’s legal bills. This is an indication that the divorce has continued to be settled amicably after all of these years.

The custody arrangement was reached after Berry and Martinez were formally divorced in December 2016, making it almost seven years after their separation. During that time, Berry said in a court declaration that the marriage needed to be dissolved by January 1, 2017, “due to pending contracts and deals… so that numerous documents do not have to be prepared.” She went on to say that “all of these contract negotiations were initiated a very long time after our separation.”

After being married for two years, Berry and Martinez filed for divorce in October 2015, citing irreconcilable differences. The two submitted their cases individually, claiming their inability to reconcile their disagreements. Nearly a year after the divorce petition was filed, Entertainment Tonight (ET) reported that the estranged couple’s procedures were in risk of being dismissed by the court, and that they were effectively given an ultimatum after their divorce processes came to a halt. The pair had been going through the motions of getting a divorce, but nothing had progressed. The processes ultimately began later that year, when they were formally pronounced single, after getting off to a poor start earlier in the year.

This is Berry’s third marriage to end in divorce. Berry, who is now in a relationship with Van Hunt, has been married twice before, the first time to baseball player David Justice and the second time to singer Eric Benet. She was also romantically involved with the model Gabriel Aubry, with whom she has a daughter named Nahla who is 15 years old.
