Fans of Dana Delany recognize her from her role as Colleen McMurphy on the program “China Beach,” but the stunning 67-year-old actress has divulged further information about her life throughout the course of her career.

For example, the actress said that when she was younger, she devoured a lot of thrillers and had secret ambitions of becoming a private eye. Honey West was her most beloved fictional TV character, and she aspired to have the same life as her. When Halloween rolled around, she made her desire come true by transforming into the mole she had always wanted to be.

Delaney has also been quite vocal about her passion for traveling as well as the location of her favorite trip. Her favorite city in Europe is Paris, and she loves traveling around Europe. Delany has been to most of the Southeast Asian countries. She also saw herself taking a gap year during which she would travel aimlessly from one location to the next.

The following are some unknown and intimate facts about Delany, such as the reason why she has never been married and the impact that her parent’s divorce had on her.

During the month of February in 2022, Delany posted a selfie on Twitter in which she could be seen with a black eye. The celebrity posted a humorous message beside the photo, which said, “You should see the other guy.”

The actress of “Desperate Housewives” sent out a follow-up tweet in which she acknowledged people who had shown concern and disclosed that she was, in fact, recuperating from a fall that had placed her in the hospital. The memory of Bob Saget’s “unwitnessed fall” and subsequent passing from head trauma prompted the actress to make the decision to have a medical checkup for herself.

In the 1996 drama “For Hope,” which Saget directed, Delany and Saget had the opportunity to work together at one point. The celebrity related how she had gone down some iron steps head first, and all she could think of was Saget as she grabbed the railing with her face before continuing her descent. She was relieved to find out that there was no break in the bone after her first fears were unfounded. She was given excellent care in the St. John’s Emergency Room, and the only injury she had was a bruise to her eye.

In the past, Delany’s eye has also needed medical treatment, so this is not the first time. In October of 2010, the celebrity divulged that seven years before, she had seen a dermatologist for anti-wrinkle therapy, at which time the physician suggested that she try Botox. When the doctor was injecting her in the forehead, however, the needle hit a nerve, which caused her right eye to drop ever-so-slightly. Since then, the nerve has stopped functioning, and she is still aware of a very tiny sagging in her face.

Since allegedly purchasing the residence in 1999, Delany has made her house in Santa Monica, California, her primary place of residence ever since. In 2013, she made an appearance in the living room of her house, where she showed off the comfortable sofas, the inviting drapes, and the light that was coming through the windows. A component of her house was also displayed during her interview with KTLA 5 Morning News in December 2022. During the online conversation, she appeared from her living room, which was one of the showcased parts of her home.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home that Delany is selling for $6 million is located on 2,160 square feet of land. She once said that her favorite activity was getting back to her house in the evening, drinking a glass of wine, and watching TCM.

The celebrity, who also maintains an apartment in Manhattan because she loves the “energy” that the city exudes, has been living alone, and she has been taking full use of the ocean view that can be seen from her bedroom window.

On “Tulsa King,” the actress who won an Emmy portrayed Margaret, an equestrian, which was a challenging part for her to perform because of her background.
Delany attributes her decision to never marry to the fact that her parents were never married. When she was sixteen years old, her parents went through a divorce, which caused her to reevaluate her feelings on marriage. She came clean and said:

“It altered me in a significant way, and it shifted the lens through which I saw things. It gave me the impression that marriage wasn’t all that significant. It released some of the tension.”

Later in life, Delany realized that being an actor was more in line with her personality than becoming a private investigator. On the other hand, there were some parts that needed her to overcome childhood traumas she had experienced in the past.

On March 13, 1956, Delany was born in the city that is now known as New York. She was born in Connecticut’s Stamford, and she always knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in acting.

In the film “China Beach,” Delany played the part of a Kansas army nurse who was exposed to the mental and physical horrors of the Vietnam War. This performance is considered to be one of Delany’s most memorable. The actress acknowledged that out of all the parts she’s ever done, the one she portrayed on the program was the one that reflected her personality the most accurately. T

Delaney disclosed that her father served in the Navy during World War II, but he never discussed his time in the service. She was saddened by the fact that he had already passed away by the time she was cast in her role in “China Beach,” and she hoped that they had been able to talk about their experiences in the war together thanks to her participation in the performance.

Delany portrayed the equestrian Margaret, a character named “Tulsa King,” in the show. The recipient of an Emmy Award acknowledged that it was difficult for her to do since when she was a youngster, she was rolled over by a horse, which instilled in her a dread of horses. Her co-star on “China Beach,” Chloe Webb, became her horse therapist and helped her ultimately get over her phobia of horses so that she could play the part.

In spite of the fact that she is far into her sixties at this point, Delany has not lost any of her stunning good looks. The actress displayed her altruistic side on March 26, 2022, when she participated in a star-studded telethon to raise money and awareness for people impacted by the continuing conflict in Ukraine. The telethon was hosted by a celebrity host. A supporter expressed their opinion that she was “still beautiful.”

On a video of the 67-year-old actress attending the opening night of the 2023 TCM Classic Film Festival, the same admirer said on YouTube that the celebrity is “always magically beautiful!” Someone other said the same thing under a separate video of the same look, stating, “She’s so beautiful.”
