A month before to his interview with People in May, Braeden had already disclosed that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He explained the reasoning for his decision to share the news of his illness with the general public at that time. He has said that:
I came to the conclusion that by going public with it, I may assist other individuals overcome their anxiety of the situation.
The actor went on to say that he hoped the news of his diagnosis will serve as a reminder to other men to get regular checkups. Braeden went on to elaborate on the signs and symptoms of this illness. He disclosed that:
The inability to pee or fully empty one’s bladder is one of the early signs of prostate enlargement, and this issue only becomes worse as the prostate expands. It presses on the urethra, and as it becomes larger, it presses against it more and more. As a result, there is a reduction in the flow.”
Due to the fact that Braeden received an incorrect diagnosis, he is even more motivated to talk about his experience. He informed everyone that the first physician had placed a catheter in his bladder in order to examine it, and the results were negative. After some time had passed, a urologist examined the actor and determined that he had stage one bladder cancer.
The soap opera actor shared the news via a Facebook Live broadcast that as of three days ago, he is no longer suffering from cancer. The performer went on saying:

“I had my last cystoscopy two days ago – that’s when they thread a camera into your bladder – and the results showed that I am cancer-free.”
In addition, he voiced his delight at the fact that they “couldn’t locate the stupid thing. That’s great, isn’t it? Braeden disclosed further information, including the fact that he is now awaiting the results of an MRI that will determine the condition of his bladder and whether or not the cancer has spread from his bladder.
He added that even if the tests turn out to be negative, he would still need to go through a few rounds of preventive infusions. The cancer-free diagnosis has brought the actor a sense of joy. He said the following in his video:
“Man, I just like life. I see no reason not to. I’m now helping out with the most popular program. It has now been at the top spot for 38 years. Why should I even bother to complain? That would be really offensive.
Braeden had a positive self-image and wanted to express his gratitude to everyone, including his family, friends, and fans, for their well wishes and prayers. He communicated to me, “I thank you for all of your good thoughts, all of your prayers; (they) meant a great deal to me.”
During his fight against cancer, the actor made connections with a large number of individuals from all over the globe, and he does not take their desires for granted. The actor was also pleased that he persuaded several wives to broach the subject of getting their husbands to take them to the doctor for checks and examinations.
The legendary actor went on to say that he has been through recovery from knee replacement surgery while also coping with complications related to his prostate. Braeden shared his story, which was difficult to understand and distressing to go through. The television celebrity was not bashful about talking about his prostate to his audience, revealing that he is elderly and “don’t give a s**t.” When the Hollywood actor was originally notified of his diagnosis, he was unaffected because he knew he would tackle it “head-on.” He stayed calm because he knew he would face it “head-on.”
