Iyanla Vanzant, who is known for her work as a life coach, author, and motivational speaker, is now in sorrow at the loss of her youngest daughter, Nisa.

Vanzant’s official Instagram account broke the sad news on Sunday, saying, “It is with great sorrow that we announce the transition of Nisa Vanzant, the youngest daughter of our Beloved Iyanla Vanzant we are asking for your prayers.” Nisa was the daughter of Iyanla Vanzant, who was known as “Iyanla Vanzant.” Please respect her and her family’s need for privacy at this difficult time. I am grateful.

The circumstances behind Nisa’s passing have not been made public in any additional detail.

Vanzant is well-known for her work as an author, spiritual life coach, and podcast presenter of her current program “The R Spot with Iyanla.” She formerly hosted the show Iyanla: Fix My Life and is noted for her work in these fields.

Iyanla: Fix My Life was a reality television show that aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network beginning in 2012 and continuing for a total of eight seasons. She had interviews with famous people including Karrueche Tran, Terrell Owens, Evelyn Lozada, Shereé Whitfield, and Cynthia Bailey, amongst many others.

Vanzant gave an interview to MSNBC in 2022, during which he discussed the anguish of coping with a personal catastrophe or a crisis in one’s life, and he preached the significance of tackling things “one step at a time.”

“Give yourself permission to experience the first shock and horrification of whatever the change is, whether it be the loss of a job, a divorce, or even a health problem… I believe that what ends up happening is that we attempt to, you know. Strive to overcome it. Absolutely not! She told him at the time, “Stay there for a couple of hours, even a day or so, and then I promise you it is one step at a time.”

“Sometimes you’ll trip and fall, and other times you’ll fumble your way forward, and other times you’ll find that you can hardly get up. It’s a matter of taking things one step at a time, and you never know where one step will lead you until you take it…Your daily spiritual practice, which includes centering, grounding, breathing, listening, and trusting, is your ticket for whatever it is that you are going into and whatever it is that you are coming out of. Just take it one step at a time Because you can’t go too quickly through it, that’s the only way you can get it done.
