Taylor Swift is accustomed to shattering records, but now she’s violating the law by staying out beyond her bedtime.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, during her performance at Levi’s Stadium on Friday, the singer who is best known for her song “Shake It Off” went over the venue’s curfew of 11 p.m. and continued to play until 11:38 p.m.
The San Francisco 49ers call this stadium in Santa Clara, which is also the location of Santa Clara’s residential neighborhoods, home. Since it was opened in 2016, the stadium has struggled with difficulties related to noise. According to the regulation, the stadium must be completely black by 10 p.m. on weekdays, 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and midnight on Sundays. The Santa Clara City Council has agreed that beginning in 2021, they would make a partial concession to event organizers by allowing up to five non-NFL events each year to go on until 11 o’clock at night.
When it comes to staying out beyond the hour of the curfew, the person who is 33 years old is in excellent company. Previous offenders include the Rolling Stones (2019), U2 (2017), Coldplay (2017), and Beyoncé, who breached the curfew on her own in 2016, and again on her co-headlining tour with husband and rapper Jay-Z in 2018. Previous offenders also include the Rolling Stones (2019), U2 (2017), Coldplay (2017), and the Rolling Stones (2019).

Swift had a valid excuse for staying out beyond her curfew, which was the release of her surprise songs. Right Where You Left Me was the first show of the evening. Even her long-time colleague Aaron Dessner contributed to the song “Evermore” that will be on her album due out in 2020.
Swift started her performance with her second surprise song, which was Castles Crumbling. This song is one of the six previously unheard tracks that were featured on this year’s re-recording of her third studio album, which she originally released in 2010 under the name Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). Swift sang the song for the very first time in a live setting at the event on Friday night.
When U2 played at Levi’s Stadium beyond the curfew in 2017, Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor issued a punishment to the 49ers in the amount of $1,000, which is the typical penalty for a noise violation.
On Saturday, July 29, Taylor Swift is due to do a performance at Levi’s Stadium, which will once again be sold out.
