On the occasion of Francia Raisa’s birthday, Selena Gomez has posted a heartfelt letter that she has written for her longtime friend and kidney donor.

Gomez went to Instagram on Wednesday to post a set of three light-hearted and friendly photographs with her buddy Raisa, in which the two of them can be seen being complete and utter BFFs.

“Happiest of birthdays to this special human being,” Gomez said in the description of the picture, which featured a photo of the friends traveling in the back of a convertible and sipping champagne. The post also included two images of the couple cuddling at various gala events.

“I will always love you, no matter what the future holds for us.” Gomez added.

Raisa celebrated her 35th birthday on Wednesday by sharing a series of photos of herself wearing an orange bikini on Instagram. The photos showed her surrounded by gold balloons that spelled out “Happy Birthday.”

“If I’m not in a bikini on my birthday, then it’s not my birthday,” Raisa captioned the humorous slideshow picture on her Instagram account.

Raisa and Gomez had been friends for close to 15 years, and in September 2017, Raisa gave Gomez the kidney that she required owing to her struggle with lupus. Gomez was in need of a transplant because of her condition.

The disagreement between the two became publicized a year ago when Gomez did not identify Raisa as a “friend in the industry” in an interview with Rolling Stone. The interview was conducted by Gomez.

“I was never able to find a place for myself among a cool group of females who were celebrities. Gomez said that she had just one buddy working in the music business, and that was Taylor Swift. “I remember feeling like I didn’t belong,” Gomez said.

Following that, a snippet of the comment, namely the phrase “My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift],” was posted on Instagram as a highlight of the interview. Following that, Raisa published a remark, which has since been removed, that simply said, “Interesting.” cryptically.

After a user on TikTok published a video dissecting the alleged conflict and pointing out, among other things, the fact that Raisa does not follow Gomez on Instagram, Gomez herself responded to the comments section of the TikTok video in order to address the allegations.

Gomez made the following remark: “I’m sorry I didn’t mention everyone I know.”

In October of 2019, ET chatted with Raisa, and during that conversation, she explained her choice to give her kidney to a friend who was in need of one.

“It was a decision that was very faith-based, and… she and I have talked about it before,” stated Raisa. “It just so happened that it was a coincidence, but I don’t believe in coincidences,” she said. I feel that it is God’s method of keeping a low profile.

She said, “I’m very grateful for the opportunity,” in reference to the operation.

The celebration of Raisa’s big day comes only a few days after Gomez celebrated her own birthday and shared with her fans a glance at the festivities that she had planned for the occasion.

The picture provided Gomez’s fans with a glimpse at the event’s guest list, and one of the photos had her posing with her closest friend, Nicola Peltz Beckham. In another photo, she may be seen sandwiched between Paris Hilton and Benny Blanco, a music producer. Gomez shared a cute moment with Christina Aguilera that she and Aguilera were having by hugging each other and posing for the camera on her Instagram Story.

The “Hands to Myself” singer also uploaded photographs from a special screening of the Barbie movie, so the good times didn’t end with her party.
