On the occasion of what would have been their late father’s 72nd birthday, the children of Robin Williams are paying homage to him.
Zak, Robin’s son, went to Instagram on Friday to offer a heartfelt message for his late father, along with a still from the actor’s 1987 military drama, Good Morning, Vietnam. Zak paid tribute to his late father in the post.
“Happy 72nd Dad! “Was remembering how much I used to love that look you’d give,” Zak wrote. “Was remembering how much I used to love that look.” “It was that expression, a smile that was equal parts impish and sweet, that your friends and loved ones were so familiar with. Exuberant, perplexing, and awe-inspiring.”
Zak, who is now 40 years old, finished his touching eulogy by saying, “Miss you and love you forever!”
Zelda Williams, daughter of Robin Williams, also made a profound message on social media, in which she again brought attention to the current SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.
Zelda, who is 33 years old, posted a picture of her father on Twitter on Friday. In the picture, he can be seen on the picket line during the last WGA strike in 2007-2008, where he is carrying a placard and protesting with other writers and creatives.
Zelda captioned the picture with, “Happy birthday to Poppo, who definitely would’ve been out there fighting the good fight for art and artists today and always,” referring to the fact that Poppo would have been celebrating his birthday.
After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease a year before to his loss by suicide in August 2014, Robin took his own life.
In an interview that took place in September 2020 on the Today program, Susan, Robin’s widow, revealed that her late husband suffered from diffused Lewy body dementia. This is a neurological condition that may cause difficulties with thinking, memory, and mobility.
