Keke Palmer is not allowing her private problems prevent her from being in the public eye. At the Broccoli City Festival, the actress and singer took the stage and really turned up the temperature.
Palmer was a special guest performance at the event, which took place over the weekend at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C., and she looked absolutely lovely in a costume designed by Sergio Hudson that was black and silver and shone brightly.
The performance comes in the midst of an open dispute with her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, which began when he publicly ridiculed her online for a sheer costume she wore to an Usher concert. The incident resulted in a significant amount of outrage directed on Jackson.
During her live performance of her song “BOSSY,” which was captured on camera and shared across several social media platforms, Amanda Palmer altered a few crucial words, which some fans saw to be a not-so-subtle dig at Janet Jackson.
Palmer raps, much to the joy of her followers, in one portion of the song, “lil booties matter, my son gave me some ass/ I’m my own boss and I got my own cash/ I don’t need a *****, only thing I need’s a bag.”
Leodis Palmer Jackson was born in February to Palmer and Jackson, who had been together since 2021. Five months later, Jackson went to Twitter in response to Palmer’s see-through concert attire, which she donned to watch Usher perform.
“It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom,” he said, adding that Palmer’s attire violated the “standards and morals” that he adheres to in his own beliefs and values.
Following the uproar on social media, Jackson seems to have removed all of the photographs he had taken with Palmer from his Instagram account. Shortly after that, Palmer broke her silence for the first time by uploading a video of her performing a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” to her YouTube channel, where she can be seen singing to her son.
“If there’s one thing that’s for sure and if there’s one thing that’s for sure, it’s that I am a MOTHA all the way through!” The post was captioned by Palmer.
Palmer gave an interview to The Cut the week before last, and in it, she discussed the state of her mental wellbeing in the aftermath of the drama.
“Since giving birth to my child, I have gained an incredible amount of strength. I am just so much more stronger in an illogical manner. “I’m enjoying myself while showing off my skills,” she remarked. “If I’m going to be really forthright with you, I believe that even before I had the kid, I was really honestly extremely self-conscious. In a manner that is consistent with what you would anticipate given the nature of the job that I conduct in the public eye. Trying my best to keep my physique in tip-top shape and making sure that I am taking proper care of everything else at the same time.
“There’s a lot of physical attention,” Palmer went on to say. “For as long as I can remember, I’ve had the goal of achieving a certain level of physical fitness, which for me meant achieving a certain level of slimness. After delivering the baby, my body became noticeably larger, and I began to develop a layer of fat in regions where I had never had it before.
“I was trying to work with my trainer, Corey Calliet, and he said, ‘Well, we are never going to try and get your body back to how it was before a baby because you birthed a child.'” “I was trying to work with my trainer, Corey Calliet, and he said, “Well, we are never going to try and get your body back to how it was before a She continued by saying, “It’s like, that’s not something to hide; rather, that’s something to embrace.”
When asked about her advice to other women who have just become mothers, Palmer urges these women to “do you.”
“Baby, if there’s anyone on this planet who absolutely adores you, it’s him,” she told the young woman. “Girl, if there’s anyone on this planet who loves you, it’s him.” “Have a good time, since there’s no other love quite like it. Someone loving you in such a way, what the heck, who gives a damn?
