Eminem attended Ed Sheeran’s show in his hometown of Detroit on Saturday, much to the delight of the locals in attendance.

Sheeran was doing the next leg on his Mathematics Tour at Detroit’s Ford Field when the “Slim Shady” rapper walked out for an unplanned performance of “Lose Yourself.”

Sheeran got things started by singing the opening thirty seconds of the smash song before being joined on stage by the rapper himself for the big surprise. Sheeran’s performance was a huge success.

The two artists then proceeded to perform their own version of “Stan,” with Sheeran supplying the Dido vocals and Eminem delivering his rapped verses as he walked the stage. The audience was left in awe after this performance.

After their two-song surprise performance, Eminem and Sheeran were greeted by a storm of ovation, which prompted Eminem to say, “I appreciate you, Detroit.” “I love you!”

“Detroit. Sheeran posted a footage from Saturday’s concert with the phrase “what a moment.”

It is not the first time that Eminem, whose actual name is Marshall Mathers, has performed on stage with Sheeran. The concert performance is unusual for Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers.

At the 37th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which took place in November, Eminem and the vocalist of “Shape of You” sang together as a duet. Eminem was being inducted into the HOF’s 2022 class at the time.

Additionally, they have worked together on a number of songs, the most notable of which being “River” (2017), “Remember the Name” (2019), and “Those Kinda Nights” (2020).

Throughout the course of the evening, Sheeran paid tribute to both Eminem and the city of Detroit, Michigan. He did so by wearing a black tour shirt that was printed with the word “DETROIT” on it. Afterward, he gave the audience a three-song encore while wearing a customized Detroit Lions jersey. The name “Mathers” was printed on the back of the NFL jersey, which had the number 5 on the front.

On July 22, Sheeran is scheduled to make his next stop in Nashville before continuing his stadium tour. Things will come to an end on September 23 in Los Angeles with the Mathematics Tour’s last stop.
