On Friday, Maksim Chmerkovskiy sent a touching birthday letter to his wife, Peta Murgatroyd, to celebrate the occasion of her 37th birthday.
“I hope you have the best birthday ever, my all-time favorite human being!” It was written by Chmerkovskiy. In addition to the message, he included a picture montage that was put to Dean Martin’s song “Heaven Can Wait.”
Since we first met in one of our many past lifetimes, we haven’t been able to stop falling in love with one another. He went on to say, “I truly feel that way, and I love you an inconceivably greater amount today than I did when our distant souls met for the first time.” The last sentence of Chmerkovskiy’s article was a quotation from William Shakespeare: “I love you with so much of my heart that none is left to protest.”
It had been less than a month after Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy had become parents to their second child, Rio, when she celebrated her birthday. On June 18, the professional dancers from Dancing With the Stars, who were married in 2017, shared on Instagram that their new child had arrived.
“💙 Rio John Chmerkovskiy 💙 Born on 6.18.2023 weighing 8.6 ounces and doing well! Our hearts are overflowing with pleasure as we introduce you all to our new baby son. Already the greatest big brother, @shai.aleksander makes the rest of us feel like we have everything we need. They captioned a photo of their newborn boy with the message, “Life is good XO,” in which they also made reference to their older son, Shai, who is 6 years old.
Murgatroyd and her partner quickly shared the news of the birth of their son with the world, and as part of the festivities, she shared a video of her labor and delivery.
“Happy Birthday, Sweet Rio,” the woman who had just given birth to her second child had written. “Wow, that was one crazy ride!!!” With a midnight automobile rush towards the hospital not knowing whether Maksimc would make it or not, to the many hours of laboring down Mr. Rio till he was in the right location to push him out with four pushes……he’s here and he’s HEAVEN After all of that, he’s here and he’s HEAVEN. Immediately after the delivery, there was a time when I turned to my mother and said, “Did you text dad?”…When I discovered I’d forgotten he’d passed away, I was overcome with emotion and started crying. That was a significant time for me. I knew it was him because I could feel his energy there, and I am certain that he will be watching over all of us here and keeping us safe. We give thanks to God that @maksimc was able to make it on time. Laughing out loud, he made the drive from Napa Valley to West Hollywood in about 4.5 hours.
