On Saturday, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary. Peta is Chmerkovskiy’s longtime partner. Through a series of touching notes, the couple conveyed to one other their deep love and gratitude for one another.
Peta showed other pictures from the couple’s wedding day, including a captivating one of the two of them locking lips while standing in front of a rainbow. She gushed over her spouse, referring to him as his “Favorite human” and describing him as her “Best friend on the planet” in the captions that she posted with the photos that she had taken on the occasion of their anniversary.
Maskim Chmerkovskiy also participated in the festivities by posting a picture from the couple’s wedding day on his Instagram account. This emotional moment, in which he is seen cradling Peta’s face while staring intently into her eyes, is captured by the image, and it demonstrates the extent to which they are connected to one another. It was written in one part of his post:
“I hope you had a wonderful anniversary my darling! It was without a doubt the very finest choice that I have ever been able to make, and if it were up to me, I would wed you each and every day of my life for as long as I shall….you know the rest:)”
On July 8, 2017, in a magnificent wedding ceremony at the gorgeous Oheka Castle on Long Island, New York, the professional dancers from the television show “Dancing with the Stars” exchanged their wedding vows with each other.
Peta’s father accompanied her down the aisle as she wore a breathtaking ball gown straight out of a fairytale as she made her way down the aisle. The gown’s captivating appearance was achieved by the combination of its off-the-shoulder fitting bodice and its voluminous, multi-tiered skirt.
Attendees to the wedding included several “Dancing With the Stars” characters, including as Tony Dovolani, Rumer Willis, and Sharna Burgess. In addition, renowned celebrities such as Jenna Johnson, Nyle DiMarco, and Candace Cameron Bure were present at the event.
Before the actual wedding, the couple and their guests celebrated their love in an extravagant pre-wedding event, which helped set the tone for the wedding itself.
The two people first came into contact with one another in 2009 when they were both working on Broadway, but they did not begin a romantic connection until 2012, when they were both competing on “Dancing With the Stars.” After dating for three years, Maskim finally decided to pop the question to Peta in December 2015, during a performance onstage. He selected this opportunity to do so.
The pair has become used to adjusting to their new lives as parents and to the demands of their work. In an interview that took place in 2018, Maskim claimed that she and her husband skipped certain red-carpet events because they didn’t want to be apart from their son Shai, who had just turned one at the time of the interview.
Both of Maskim and Peta’s children are named Rio John Chmerkovskiy, who was born on June 18, 2023. Rio John is the couple’s second kid together.
