Authorities from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado revealed this week that they had hired on two beautiful new cops, K9 Otis and K9 Bear, who will be working as therapy animals at area schools.

Because this was such a momentous event, the dapper puppies were even requested to pose for an official photograph while wearing miniature versions of their own jackets and badges.

On the other hand, getting one’s hands dirty during work may certainly tire one out.

The black Labrador Retriever named Otis appeared to be the most lively of the two new policemen.

Chocolate Lab Bear, on the other hand, gives off an impression of being a little bit more reserved.

During the ceremonial event in which Otis and Bear took their oaths of office together, the stark disparity in their levels of activity was on full show.

Otis seemed cheerful and bright-eyed in front of the gathering throng and amid the pomp and circumstance of that momentous event. He paused briefly to give his paw while the oath was being read to the audience.

Bear, on the other hand, seemed to be quite sleepy, and he even had trouble staying up at times throughout the important day he shared with Otis.

(To Bear’s credit, though, he did eventually perk up enough to lead a hilarious puppy play-fight by the time it was all said and done.)

K9 Otis and K9 Bear, each with their own exemplary demeanor, will, if everything goes according to plan, go on to enjoy long and fruitful careers as therapy dogs in local schools, where they will provide comfort to students and make them smile.

The sheriff’s office said that “we hope you love them as much as we do!” in their message to the public.

To tell you the truth, I’m not sure how anybody could resist doing so.
