Paulo Santoro and his adorable puppy, Luck, have been inseparable buddies ever since the first day they spent together. The connection between them is strong.

“We have a very strong connection,” Santoro said in an interview with The Dodo. “All it takes is a glance to understand each other.”

However, a few months ago, there was a possibility that something might cut short the time that Luck and Santoro spent together.

While Santoro and Luck went out for a stroll close to their house in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a gang of armed thugs approached them with the intent to rob them. Santoro and Luck, realizing the danger, started running away, but just as they turned around, they heard bullets coming from behind them.

In the event that Luck’s life may be preserved, Santoro did not waste any time getting his wounded puppy to a nearby veterinarian facility.

“They were able to put a stop to the bleeding,” Santoro added. However, Luck’s journey to recovery would be far longer than expected.

As a result of the difficulties caused by the gunshot wound, Luck needed his devoted medical staff to perform a total of three arduous operations on him.

According to Santoro, “He was hospitalized for a total of 55 days.” “He had an incredible fight in him to stay alive. He is a stalwart fighter.”

During the course of those weeks spent receiving therapy, his caregivers began to see Luck as more than simply a patient.

The endurance shown by Luck was an inspiration to the workers at the veterinary clinic, and they eventually began to think of him as a friend.

As a result, when the day finally arrived for Luck to be released, they decided to celebrate the event by throwing a surprise goodbye party for her.

Santoro described the emotion as “one of complete and utter joy.”

Since then, there have been a few months, and Luck has continued to be successful.

According to Santoro, “He has made a wonderful recovery,” and he added that the entire incident has only enhanced their love for one another, saying, “We are closer than ever.”

It turned out that the tearful farewell that Luck got from the people who cared for him wasn’t exactly a permanent farewell.

According to Santoro, “Now, whenever we can, we visit the vet hospital to prevent ourselves from going on missing each other.”

If you follow Luck on Instagram, you will be kept up to date on his most recent exploits.
