The other day, Shelby Davis traveled to Arizona for a business function from Denver, Colorado, a distance of ten hours’ driving. She arrived at her hotel only a few minutes before midnight, but was disappointed to learn that check-in had already concluded many hours earlier.

Davis went in circles around the parking lot since there was no other way for him to enter. Then, out of the darkness, she saw a pair of eyes that were looking at her with a shattered heart.

Shelby Davis, who is the director of Soul Dog Rescue, had little trouble determining that the small thing that was observing her was a canine. She was caught off guard when she came upon a puppy at this hour of the night, but fortunately, she was well prepared to save him.

Davis went up to the dog, and the dog consented to being picked up and carried back to the vehicle by Davis. The dog had obvious signs of illness, such as being very underweight and having patchy hair, but as soon as he was in Davis’ car, he began to perk up and act normally again.

“She put him in the van, and he didn’t want to leave,” Molly Steele, the dog’s new foster mom, told The Dodo. “He didn’t want to leave.” “He was very happy to be taken off the streets.”

After being forced to fend for himself for such a significant amount of time, the dog, who would eventually be given the name Braydon, entirely relaxed around Davis. Before settling down for the lengthy journey back to Denver, he warmed up in her company and snacked on some food before getting comfortable.

After arriving back in Colorado late that night, Davis took Braydon to the emergency room first thing the next morning. The adorable canine went back to his kennel after getting a long overdue wash and examination in order to begin therapy for his weight and skin condition.

The instant Steele laid eyes on Braydon in her capacity as a volunteer with Soul Dog Rescue, she was completely taken aback by her feelings for him. A little less than a week later, she made the decision to give him foster care, and his response to meeting the other members of her family demonstrated that the feeling was reciprocal.

“Braydon fell in love with being with his new foster family the moment he arrived,” said Steele. “He would not stop offering hugs and kisses. It seemed as though he was familiar with us already.

Braydon, who had previously lived on the streets by himself, immediately made himself at home with his new family and behaved as if he had never been apart from them.

Braydon’s response to finally having a home was even more emotional when he came to their house and saw it for the first time.

“He went from one dog bed to the next,” Steele said. “I seriously doubt that he had ever slept on anything quite as plush before.”

Braydon’s personality bloomed as he adjusted to his new foster family and made himself at home there.

Steele described him as having “the kindest and most gentle spirit.” “He enjoys nothing more than to curl up with a good book and cuddle on the sofa! Additionally, he is kind and kind to everyone he encounters, showering them with hugs and kisses.

Braydon not only had to form relationships with his new human family, but he also had to figure out how to coexist with his new canine siblings. Thank goodness, he blended in well with the rest of the group.

According to Steele, “He loves any dog he has met,” and “he has met a lot of dogs.” There are three more rescue dogs in our home, and he gets along well with all of them.

The adoption process for Braydon has not yet been completed as of right now. His caretakers are presently concentrating on restoring his health so that they may place him in a home where he will be permanently. But Steele is certain that when the time comes for him to eventually join a family, he will be an excellent member of that family.

In the interim, Steele and her family will continue to lavish the love that Braydon has always earned onto him in a lavish display.

“He knows he’s safe,” Steele said. “And that he will never have to endure such agony once more.”
