The morning show on CBS This Morning referred to Van Dyke as “elastic-limbed” and praised his “impeccable timing.” Van Dyke is noted for his physical comedy acting talents. “I had always been an admirer of Buster Keaton and Laurel and Hardy,” Van Dyke said in an interview with the show. Therefore, when I was a child, I would practice falling. And I had figured out the solution to it all.”

There were others in my social circle who told me, “You’re crazy.” However, it seemed as if it was beneficial to a significant number of individuals. I had a lot of correspondence from individuals who said things like, ‘You know, if you can do it, I can do it,'” Van Dyke said Cavett. “If you can do it, I can do it.”
Van Dyke is now 97 years old and has been healthy and clean for a number of years. In 1967, the National Father’s Day Committee honored Van Dyke by bestowing upon him the title of Father of the Year. In an interview that he gave to The Guardian in the year 2016, Van Dyke said that being a father wasn’t always easy for him.
“Despite my best efforts to set a positive example for my children, I struggled with alcoholism for the better part of 25 years.” He revealed to the journal that when he went into treatment, he understood that he was repeating the errors that his father had made.
The beloved television personality said in an emotional statement on Instagram that he was spending time with his loved ones at home. In a video, Van Dyke and his family can be seen congregating in the living room for a snapshot, which is then followed by an image of the whole family.

“When I was pregnant with my first child, I had no idea what I was getting myself into,” she said. Notably, all four of Van Dyke’s children come from his marriage to his late ex-wife, Margie Willet. Christian, Barry, Stacy Van, and Carrie Beth were the names of the four of them.
