Even though Vanna White has been a co-host on Wheel of Fortune since its inception in 1982, a recent report suggests that she has not been given a salary increase in almost twenty years.
This shocking information was brought to light by Puck after Pat Sajak, 76, stated earlier this month that he would be retiring at the conclusion of season 41, which will begin airing in September. Puck was the one who brought this information to light. According to Puck, White, who is 66 years old, has subsequently retained the services of a “aggressive new lawyer” in an effort to get a pay increase amidst ongoing discussions for her to continue to remain until the conclusion of the 2023–2024 season, which is when her current contract would expire.
According to Matthew Belloni of Puck, White’s annual salary is now at $3 million, whereas Sajak’s salary is said to be five times as much by various sources. It is important to take into account that the publication reportedly revealed that she has gotten some incentives as well. Puck said that White does “way more” PR for the show than Sajak does, despite the fact that some people have mentioned that Sajak is the host and White is a co-host who taps screens to expose letters on the board (she used to turn them, remember?). White is the one who does “way more” publicity than Sajak. Puck was given the opportunity to comment, but Sony chose not to.
Wheel of Fortune, which debuted in 1981, is indisputable evidence that White is linked with the program. White joined the show in the year 1982. She has subsequently cemented her place in the vocabulary of popular culture, which is not usually a guarantee even after the program has been on the air for more than 40 years.

Remember that it was Nelly who gave White a shout out, not Sajak, in his popular song “Ride Wit Me” from the year 2000. In that verse, Nelly raps: “Running credit checks with no shame now / I feel the fame now (come on) / I can’t complain now (no more) / I can’t complain now (no more) / I can’t complain now (no more)” I’m the guy now, in and out of my own town. I’m receiving pages from Courtney B. out of New Jersey telling me about a party in New York City, and they want to know if I can make it. Damn right, I’ll be on the next aircraft paying cash and sitting in first class next to Vanna White.”
Following Sajak’s announcement that he will leave the show at the conclusion of the 41st season, White paid homage to her longtime coworker.
When we first began @WheelofFortune, who could have guessed that 41 seasons later, we’d still be doing it? I cannot express how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to perform beside you for all of these years, and I look forward to doing so again in the future. Cheers to you, @patsajak!” White retweeted something that Sajak had already said.
It is not quite apparent if White intends to continue serving in her present role or whether she would like to take over for Sajak. Whoopi Goldberg, host of “The View,” has already announced her intention to run for the position. Although it hasn’t been made publically known who will take Goldberg’s position, numerous renowned names, in addition to Goldberg, have been brought up as potential candidates. These include Ryan Seacrest, Maggie Sajak, White, and others.
