The Northeast Animal Rescue organization got a complaint about a stray female dog that was seen walking about close to an overpass. Residents were able to get glimpses of her on occasion as she strolled down the roadway in search of food from passing motorists and pedestrians.

The people who came to her aid quickly realized that she was a mother who was breastfeeding her child. When she produced pups, the rescue operation expanded from saving just one dog to saving as many as she had.

The mother dog had a great deal of anxiety, but she was aware that there were people who could assist her, so she chose to guide the rescuers to her puppies.

They pursued her till they found a culvert pipe with pups sheltering inside of it and they followed them there. When the mother was ultimately reunited with her five offspring by the rescuers, she showed relief by wagging her tail and acknowledging the fact that they were at last safe.

The mother went into the pipe, and the people who were trying to save her and her pups assumed she would bring them out on her own, but instead, she turned around and walked back toward them.

Will, one of the people helping, was able to climb into the pipe and carefully collect all five of the puppies, three of them were females and two of whom were boys.

They carried the mother dog and her pups back to their rescue facility, where they were fed and kept warm.

They came to the conclusion that the mother dog should be given the name Sierra. The people who rescued her characterized her as a “responsible and competent mom.”

They decided to give the pups the names Holly, Willow, Magnolia, and Alder. Parker was the last name. Because of Sierra, each and every one of her pups is now safe and sound.
