Bebe Rexha is now in the process of healing from injuries sustained after a smartphone was held up to her face while she was performing in New York City on Sunday night.

The singer of “In the Name of Love” shared a snapshot of her swollen, black-and-blue eye with a cut just below her eyebrow on Instagram on Monday morning to give fans an update and highlight the extent of her injuries. She simply wrote, “I’m good” beneath the photo, which was accompanied by the caption, “I’m good.”

When the event occurred, Rexha was in the middle of playing a gig at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in Lower Manhattan, which was completely sold out. The video shows Rexha getting struck in the face with the smartphone and falling to her knees; the team from backstage immediately comes out to assist the singer.

The individual who uploaded the video to Twitter placed the following caption alongside it: “Absolutely great show ruined by a fan throwing their phone at @BebeRexha hopefully she is ok after that.”

ET was told by a spokesman for the New York Police Department. An attack was reported to have taken place at the performance space of Pier 17, which is situated at 89 South Street and is under the jurisdiction of the 1st Precinct, on the evening of Sunday, June 18, 2023, at around 10 o’clock in the evening. An initial investigation conducted at the site came to the conclusion that a male performer, age 27, purposefully threw a mobile phone at a female performer, age 33, causing her to be struck in the face by the object. The subject was taken into custody at the site of the incident and then transported to the 1st Precinct for processing of the arrest. The female patient who received assistance was transported by emergency medical services to a nearby hospital in a stable condition.

Nicolas Malvagna, 27, from Manalapan, New Jersey was arrested and charged with felony assault, according to information that was provided by ET. Malvagna is accused of assaulting Bebe Rexha with a telephone. On Monday, he is scheduled to make his first court appearance.

Rexha released a follow-up video with followers on TikTok, in which she showed them the injury to her eye but reassured them that she was OK, saying “i’m okay you guys.” In the accompanying music video, she can be seen performing her chart-topping single “I’m good, yeah I’m feeling alright.”

The singer is now on the “Best F*n Night of My Life” tour, which she is performing for. Her subsequent performance will take place in Philadelphia tomorrow, on the 20th of June.
