A few weeks ago, we saw a story on our website titled “Full Face Transplant Performed in the United States” about a guy who suffered terrible burns after unintentionally coming into touch with a high voltage wire. Dallas Wiens, a guy from Texas who is 26 years old, was the recipient of the first complete face transplant in the United States. The operation took place not too long ago in Boston, and it was performed on Dallas Wiens.
In order to heal the damage that had been done to Dallas’s face and nerve endings, as well as to connect the new face and muscle tissue that had been removed from an unknown donor, Dallas had 15 hours of surgery.

On Monday, Dallas made his first appearance in public since his surgery, and he discussed his recovery and his goals for the future.
He said that his reunification with his pre-school-aged daughter had been the most satisfying aspect of his trip up to this point.
