Lewis Capaldi has postponed all of the tour dates that were scheduled to take place over the next three weeks so that he may “rest and recover” emotionally and physically.

After previously disclosing that his battle with anxiety and Tourette syndrome has lately taken a toll on his career, the “Someone You Loved” singer, who is 26 years old, announced the news on his Instagram account on Monday.

Capaldi started out by saying, “This is a really difficult message, and one that hurts me a lot to have to type, but I’m really sorry to say that I’m going to have to cancel all commitments from now until I play Glastonbury on June 24th.” This was a statement that he had to send because of his upcoming performance at Glastonbury.

When asked about the tour in promotion of his second album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, he remarked, “It’s been such an incredible time leading into this new album, and seeing all of the support from everyone has been beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of.”

The artist said that the previous few months have been psychologically and physically taxing for him. “That being said, these past few months have been full on.” Since Christmas, I haven’t been able to spend much time at home, so right now it’s hard for me to get my head around all that’s happened.

Capaldi said, “I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all of the other incredible shows coming up so that I’m able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come,” in reference to his upcoming performance at the Glastonbury Festival, which will take place later this month.

He went on to say, “I need to take these three weeks to be Lewis from Glasgow for a bit, spend some time with my family and friends, and do normal things that are important to me feeling better in order to get back to my normal life.” I hope everyone understands.”

“I’m extremely sorry for the impact this will have.” “I find it incomprehensible that you are willing to come out and spend your time, money, and love on these shows, and I want you to know how fortunate I feel as a result of this,”

His last statement was as follows: “I’m getting all the help and support I need from the incredible people around me, for whom I am so grateful.” I do not consider any of this to be a given and cannot wait to go back to engaging in it once again. To Lewis, with all my love, x”

In May, the Scottish singer-songwriter said that he is open to the idea of taking a break from music in order to protect his mental health.

“Right now I’m at a point where I can balance my mental health and how I feel in general…the trade-off is worth it,” he added. “The trade-off is worth it.” “I’ll take a few panic attacks and my Tourette’s and other stuff as a price to pay for what’s happening, but if it gets to a point where things get worse mentally and I stop kind of looking after myself in that regard, I think that would be an occasion where I’d be like, ‘I’m just not going for this anymore.'”

“At that point, if it felt like it was becoming something that I was not into, was causing me stress, or I hated, then that would probably be the time when I would pack it in,” Capaldi continued. “It’s not something I’m into.”
