After finishing his food each morning, Fronky, a 180-pound mastiff, rushes outside to wait for his closest buddy to come for a visit. When his friend finally arrives, Fronky will quickly run to greet him.
“After breakfast, Fronky knows that his best friend Shaun, who is the letter carrier, is going to be coming over to see him,” Eileen, Fronky’s mother, said in an interview with The Dodo. “He’s at the point where he just can’t contain his excitement, so he’s like, ‘OK, can I go out now?'”
Eileen said that if Shaun spends too much time in her vehicle getting all of the mail and parcels ready, Fronky becomes agitated and irritable.
She said that “He’ll stand on the fence, and for somebody that doesn’t know Fronky, it can be a bit overwhelming,” which is exactly what he does. “Even though he weighs 180 pounds, he has no idea that he is twice as big as Shaun.”
However, there was a time when he was just half as large as Shaun. The bond between Fronky and Shaun was established when Fronky was just 7 weeks old.
Eileen said that “the two of them bonded immediately, from the very first day.” “It’s simply something that’s been going on for a while. They talk to one another almost every day, with the exception of when she is on vacation.
Eileen thinks that Shaun is one of the things that makes Fronky’s day, and Fronky is one of the things that makes Shaun’s day, according to Eileen.
Eileen said that “her job is very stressful and her route is super long,” referring to the woman’s commute. “I think that just having this little break with Fronky helps her out and gives her something to look forward to.”
Sometimes Shaun is only able to stay long enough to give Fronky a treat and drop off the mail, but the vast majority of the time, she makes sure to give Fronky plenty of head rubs and pat him on his head. “And even at the end, when she goes, every time she either says, ‘I’ll see you tomorrow,’ or, if she’s off, she says, ‘I won’t see you for a couple of days,'” Eileen added. “And even at the end, when she leaves, every time she either says, “I’ll see you tomorrow.” “She is very good at keeping him informed.”
Since Fronky started having feelings for Shaun, he has made more of an effort to get to know the neighbors that pass by his yard. Eileen said that “He knows everyone on our block,” including delivery employees such as UPS drivers and other USPS mailcarriers. “He knows everyone on our block,”
On the other hand, Shaun has a very special place in Fronky’s heart. “It just makes me so happy that every day he has this great moment of happiness in his life to look forward to with Shaun,” Eileen said, adding that he even waits for her to come on Sunday, which is her day off. “It just makes me so happy that every day he has this great moment of happiness in his life to look forward to with Shaun,” Eileen said. Sometimes he may wait for her by the fence until it gets dark before approaching her.
She went on to say that “Shaun has become somewhat of a member of our family.” “The moment [Fronky] hears her voice, his tail goes completely berserk… I believe that her friendship with Fronky has a very unique place in her heart, [as well]. I enjoy that we both feel the same way about one other. The way I get the impression is that she loves him just as much as he loves her.
