Brad Pitt is celebrating the success of both his vineyard and winery by raising a glass.
The actor’s Chateau Miraval Rosé was recently recognized as the “most desirable Provence rosé in the world” in a new ranking published by the French publication La Figaro Magazine. In recognition of the award, photographs that had been taken in the past of Brad Pitt and his business partner Marc Perrin at the vineyard were made public.
According to a press release, the estates were evaluated based on the following eight criteria: the landscape, the premises and their renovation, the extent to which it is considered a “hidden treasure,” the prestige of owners, the bottle design, the utilization of sustainable farming, the visibility of the vineyard, and the taste-tested quality of the wine. When all of the factors were taken into consideration, the winner was Pitt’s wine.

In 2013, only one year after Pitt and his now-ex-wife Angelina Jolie officially purchased Chateau Miraval, a huge property in Correns, France, the winning product was initially unveiled. (Since 2008, they had been paying rent under a lease agreement that covered an extended period of time.)
They were able to establish Miraval Wines with rapid success thanks to their partnership with the Perrin family. The first 6,000 bottles of rosé that they created were sold out in just five hours.

“Miraval isn’t a ‘celebrity’ wine for me,” Pitt said in an interview with PEOPLE in the year 2020. “Above all else, it is a lovely and exceptional estate that I fell in love with, and I continue to invest in it so that it might become one of the finest estates in Provence. I worked with the Perrin family on the wine, which was a collaboration. They have been making wine for five generations in their family. We are committed to working together for the foreseeable future. It’s not merely a fad that will go away.”

Since they first released Miraval Rosé ten years ago, Pitt has been steadily increasing production ever since then. After a number of years of research and development, Fleur de Miraval champagne was finally released onto the market. Initially, other estate vintages were added (Muse and Studio). Recent years have seen Pitt’s expansion into the field of distilled beverages.
People magazine broke the exclusive news earlier in the month of May that Brad Pitt intended to make the world debut of The Gardener Gin at the Cannes Film Festival. Since Pitt’s most recent business endeavor is a premium, dry London-style gin influenced by the south of France, the yearly event served as the ideal setting for the launch party.
