When you’re as famous as Miley Cyrus, it’s difficult to go on the typical kind of blind date. The pop artist, who is now 30 years old, discussed the circumstances behind her introduction to her long-term partner, Maxx Morando, in a recent story for British Vogue.
Cyrus said in her cover story that she and the 24-year-old drummer from Liily were acquainted to one another after they “got put on a blind date.”
The artist who is known for the song “Flowers” explains, “Well, it was blind for me and not really for him.”

She reflects on her dating philosophy at the time, saying, “I thought, ‘The worst that can happen is I leave.'”
The interviewer, Giles Hattersley, mentions in the profile that Morando phoned Cyrus while they were talking, and the song “Tyrone” by Erykah Badu was playing as the ringtone.
Cyrus acknowledges the tune by saying, “I call that ‘boyfriend sexy ringtone,'” and going on to describe the tone.
Following Cyrus’s divorce from Liam Hemsworth in 2020, the first public mention of her relationship with Morando occurred in 2021.
“I wouldn’t erase my story or want it to be erased,” she remarked in reference to the conclusion of their 10-year relationship. “Having an interesting life makes for interesting storytelling.”
