The newlyweds have decided to move to a different town!

Jonathan Owens, the new husband of Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, has recently inked a contract to play safety for the Green Bay Packers.

A little over a week after saying “I do” (for a second time) in front of friends and family at their destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas on Saturday, the couple revealed further exciting news about the next chapter in their story together. Owens is now 27 years old, and Biles is 26 years old.

On Friday, Biles uploaded a snapshot on Instagram showing herself and her husband beaming as Owens signed his deal with his new NFL club. The photo was taken when Owens was meeting with his new squad.

“slight wedding content intermission to say GO PACK GO,” the radiant bride said in the description of the shot she posted on Instagram. She was also seen in the photo wearing Green Bay Packers gear.

Biles continued by saying that she is “so proud” of her husband and that she is happy for the “new beginnings” that the two of them will have together.

Owens, who once played for the Houston Texans, also shared his reaction to the news on his Instagram account, where he wrote, “New beginnings. The perfect ending to a fantastic week. Let’s go to work.  Coming up next is Year 6!!”

After announcing their engagement a year earlier, the Olympic gold winner and the newest player for the Packers tied the knot on April 22, 2023, making the wedding official.

Biles penned in her journal at the moment, “THE EASIEST YES.” You are all I could have ever hoped for and more, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. Let’s get married FIANCÉ @jowens_3.”

Before Owens made it to the National Football League, he played high school football at Christian Brothers College High School, which he had previously attended. After completing high school, he continued his athletic career at the collegiate level by enrolling in Missouri Western State University. During his senior year, he was honored as the school’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year.

After the 2018 NFL Draft, he became a free agent and subsequently signed with the Arizona Cardinals. He was not selected in the draft. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury while participating in a practice exercise before to the start of his first season.

The Olympian makes it a point to attend all of her fiance’s NFL games on a consistent basis. Following the announcement that the Olympic Games in 2020 will be delayed by one year due to the epidemic, Biles said that one of the benefits of the delay would be the opportunity to cheer on Owens in person.

“Being able to experience life with my family and friends has been really exciting,” she added. “I’m really grateful for that.” “Being able to accompany my partner to his National Football League games. I informed him that in all my years of watching sports, I had never attended such a large number of games in one season. Because I’m normally so busy and scattered all over the place.”
