Meet Momo, a 13-year-old super mongrel whose boisterous temperament belies her age, which doesn’t even come close to reflecting her age.
Momo isn’t like other older dogs in the sense that she doesn’t waste a good chance for a snooze; nevertheless, she does have one endearing quality that sets her apart from other senior dogs. Momo can’t help but hop about like a bunny whenever she gets happy, and she can’t stop herself no matter what she’s going through.
These days, Momo is known to engage in puppy-like zoomies more often than in the past; however, this was not always the case. In point of fact, her adopted family found a photo of her online, but the accompanying text depicted an entirely different dog.
“She had no idea where she was or who she was.” “Volunteers tried to find her a foster home or an adoptive family, but no one was interested in taking care of or adopting her.” She was regarded to be too elderly, a super mutt, not very interested in being around humans, and to have had too many diseases, despite the fact that she had recovered from each one. Momo’s physique, which was 8 years old at the time, was no longer as young as it previously was. She had been experiencing some health issues that were causing her body to hurt while she was staying at the shelter. The puppy’s suspicion of strangers only increased as time went on. She chose to be by herself in the kitchen rather than mingling with the other people who were staying at the shelter.
Momo’s life was eventually altered when her parents made the decision to take a chance on her after she had been neglected for a number of years. The two people had high hopes that the cautious puppy would emerge from her shell soon, and they were ready to let her become comfortable with them on her own timetable.
Momo’s parents were extremely kind as she adjusted to her new life, and they showed their pride in her accomplishments by expressing excitement whenever she reached a new benchmark.
on a post on Instagram, Momo’s parents said, “We witnessed so many Momo firsts when we adopted her — the first time she used the stairs, the first time she let us pet her, the first time she laid out in the grass in the backyard and more,” “Like an alligator, she will now hop up to get the treat,” the speaker said.
In a short amount of time, the abandoned puppy had surpassed the speed of the more seasoned canines who lived in her house. Two years after her adoption, Momo became ill for the second time just as she was starting to get acclimated to her new family and the routine of running circles around them.
At one point, the small puppy lost movement in her rear legs, but she refused to let that stop her.
“She couldn’t use both of her hind legs, but she somehow started to hop on her left hind leg when being helped,” Momo’s parents posted on Instagram. “I have no idea how or why she did this.”
The good news is that Momo’s discomfort ultimately eased, and she was able to resume her normal zoomies.
There is one thing, though, that gets Momo more excited than anything else: after she has been given a bath. Momo’s family just loves seeing the lovely puppy run and jump about in excitement anytime there is food around.
Momo’s owners said in an Instagram post that their itty-bitty pooch detests being washed in any way, shape, or form. The accompanying photograph depicts Momo looking as miserable as ever while swaddled in a towel and wearing puppy eyes.
The senior dog is always ecstatic to emerge from the tub, despite the fact that she detests having water poured over her head during the rinsing process. The post-bath antics of Momo’s canine parents were captured on tape not too long ago, and the clip is as bit as entertaining as it is endearing.
They stated in the post, “She’s still got the zoomies,” Momo’s parents.
after Momo has the zoomies, the small pooch is almost impossible to stop after they have taken hold. However, since Momo has shaky balance and the floors are slick, her parents have chosen to create an additional layer of protection for her.
Even though she is 13 years old, Momo’s vitality is like that of a young puppy. And when she’s not bouncing around her living room in joy of completing another bath, Momo can generally be found dozing away on one of her numerous comfy beds beside her elder brother, Fig.
Momo is still working on conquering some of her previous phobias, but one thing is certain: the adorable child is happier and more buoyant than she has ever been in the past.
