The remarkable recovery of a lady whose face had been scarred by a huge tumor is due to the efforts of the surgeons who worked on her.
After the huge facial tumor had left one side of her face horrifically disfigured, Samira Benhar found herself in a position where she was alienated and alone.
Doctor Pedro Cavadas, a world-renowned surgeon who specializes in reconstructive surgery and implants, provided the woman, who is 39 years old and a mother of two children, with a chance at a new life. Her husband had rejected her because of the problem.
The patient has been under his care at the Manises Hospital in Valencia, which is located in the Valencian Community in the Valencian Community Region of Spain for the last 13 months.

A pharmacist in Casablanca, Morocco, saw Samira holding her head in her hands and approached her to inquire as to the nature of her distress. Samira was from Casablanca.

“I was very damaged both physically and psychologically,” she said.
“A lady walked up to me and started talking to me. After seeing my appearance, she requested a photograph of us together. Since I didn’t have one, we had to go to a store to get one.

Because of the pharmacist, her tale was sent to the renowned Spanish surgeon, who after hearing it made the decision to assist her, stating that he was certain that there would be “great surgical improvement.”
He said that this is a hereditary condition that is uncommon but not unheard of, and that the therapy consists of attempting to make the face more symmetrical. To our great good fortune, the tumors are benign.
Both the Adra Foundation and the Cultural Islamic Centre provided financial support for the therapy.
Samira stayed in Valencia for a total of thirteen months and went through a number of surgical operations to have the neurofibroma on her face entirely removed. She also had an eye prosthesis implanted during this time.
