A user on TikTok by the name of Jess Bolton recently uploaded a video to her account in which she presented the world with an introduction to her “invisible dog,” an Italian greyhound by the name of Otto. Otto is not literally invisible, but Bolton treats him as if he were a ghost and occasionally acts as if she is unable to see him. Of course, Otto is not actually invisible. Bolton can be heard saying in the video, “It sounds sad, but he loves it,”

When Otto became a member of the Bolton family in April, Bolton saw that he lacked self-assurance and that his anxiousness was exacerbated by interactions with other people. Therefore, in order to assist Otto in experiencing a greater sense of control over his circumstances, Bolton continued in her TikTok by saying, “No one looks at him, talks to him, or touches him unless he explicitly asks them to.”

According to what Bolton told The Dodo, “We took in Otto last month from a very loving home where, unfortunately, he was not getting along with another dog.” Because he was under a significant amount of stress as a result of it, he was seeking a new place to make his home.

According to Bolton, she and her boyfriend were able to visit Otto at his old residence, where they learned that he is, in fact, a cheerful person despite his nervousness. “The move has knocked his confidence, and he’s taking his time to adjust to his new life,” said Bolton. “He’s taking his time to adjust to his new life.” As he adjusts to living with us, our primary responsibility right now is to ensure that he is both secure and comfortable at this time.

And if doing so requires Bolton to continue to disregard him as if he does not exist, then that is precisely what he will continue to do.

Both Bolton and her boyfriend have a great deal of experience providing care for frightened pets. Our whippet, Jess, had a difficult start to life.” “She really comes out of her shell around her four-legged friends, though, so for years we’ve been on the lookout for another dog to add to our family,”

“We wanted a dog with the right mix of calm, cuddly, and quirky characteristics, and Otto sounded like the perfect fit!” “Otto seemed like the perfect fit!” Bolton continued.

And in the same way that Jess relaxes with other canines, she is assisting Otto in doing the same thing.

Bolton said that Otto and Jess are having a wonderful time together. Both of them are calm canines that like snoozing in close quarters with one another in the warmest parts of our house. We were concerned that it might take some time for Jess to adjust to the constant presence of another dog, but from the very first day, it seems as if they have become the best of friends.

Bolton is under the impression that Jess will most likely be the one to assist Otto in regaining his confidence, and she has a feeling that Otto’s joyful nature will start to emerge in the months that are to come.

According to Bolton, the most difficult obstacle she has encountered so far in caring for Otto is not violating his personal space. She has found that receiving guidance from a pet behaviorist has been quite beneficial in this regard. “We’re working on getting him happier being handled so that he can have his nails cut, feel confident at the vet, and put his coat on when it gets colder,” said Bolton. “We’re working on getting him happier being handled.” We are taking our cues from him, and we are certain that we will arrive at our destination in due time if we continue to move at his pace.

Otto is aware that he has a ways to go before he can communicate effectively with his human companions, but he is certain that once he does so, he will be showered with affection on an unimaginable scale.
