The arrival of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis during the coronation of their grandpa King Charles has been announced.
On Saturday, the three children of Kate Middleton and Prince William were present at the event that crowned King Charles and Queen Camilla. The ceremony was held in honor of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The younger two children of the royal couple arrived at Westminster Abbey with their parents on the morning of the coronation. Charlotte, age 8, wore a leafy headpiece that matched her mother’s tiara for the momentous event. George, age 5, wore a crown that matched his father’s.

Before entering Westminster Abbey and taking their seats with their parents, all of the young members of the royal family could be seen gazing out the vehicle windows as the procession made its way there.
In a touching gesture, Prince George, who is now second in the line of succession after his father, was a Page of Honor for his grandpa. George is the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II. At the celebration, the nine-year-old boy, one of the pages, wore a uniform along with the other pages.
According to a story in The Telegraph, George’s presence made him the youngest potential future king to participate in a coronation ceremony formally. (Although Prince Charles, then 4 years old, was brought in to observe part of his mother Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953, and Princess Elizabeth, then 11 years old, was present for the crowning ceremony of her father King George VI in 1937, none of them took part in the actual event.)

A spokesman for the Prince and Princess of Wales earlier told PEOPLE that the boy’s parents are “very excited and delighted” about his becoming a page. “His parents are very excited and delighted that he is a page,” the spokesperson said. “It is something that his parents have given a great deal of thought to in the past, and they are very much looking forward to it — and I have no doubt that George feels the same way.”
Four pages were allotted to both King Charles and Queen Camilla and in addition to Prince George, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Nicholas Barclay, and Ralph Tollemache served as attendants to King Charles. Queen Camilla’s three grandchildren, the twins Gus and Louis Lopes, and Freddy Parker Bowles, as well as her great-nephew Arthur Elliot, served as pages for her.
The royal children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are cousins of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who were not present during the coronation. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are the children of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While Prince Harry was in the United Kingdom to see his father’s coronation as king, Meghan chose to remain in California with their children and celebrate Prince Archie’s fourth birthday, which happened to fall on the same day as his grandfather’s coronation.
