In the manner that is most befitting and proper, Dannielynn Birkhead is honoring the memory of her late mother, Anna Nicole Smith, by making a fashion statement in her own right.

On Friday night, Dannielynn Birkhead, Anna Nicole’s 16-year-old daughter, and her father, Larry Birkhead, attended the 34th annual Barnstable Brown Kentucky Derby Eve Gala. Dannielynn wore a top that included photographs of Anna Nicole, so all eyes were on her. Larry Birkhead was also in attendance. Guess is the retailer of the mesh top, and Larry reportedly told People that the photographs represent “some of Anna’s best Guess campaigns.” Guess sells the mesh top.

According to a comment that appeared in the source, Larry said that the shirt “came from a Guess collection that sold out and she Dannielynn saved it for a special occasion.”

Larry sent a message on Instagram in which he called attention to the fact that Dannielynn was wearing jewelry that had belonged to her late mother. Larry, who was seen wearing a suit by Hugo Boss, said in the caption of the photo that he was also commemorating “the 20th anniversary where I met Dannielynn’s Mom at the same event.”

It has been a tradition for many years for Dannielynn and her father to spend the weekend of the Kentucky Derby together. Dannielynn will be 17 in September. The young woman met Janet Jackson at the same gala the previous year when she was wearing the exact same gown that Jackson wore to the exact same occasion twenty years before.

On Instagram, Larry shared an explanation, revealing that the clothing Dannielynn was wearing had been acquired via the singer’s charity auction. Jackson attended the event in 2003 dressed in a black suit. When Jackson first saw Dannielynn, the singer reportedly screamed, “That’s my outfit!” as reported by the Daily Mail.

The gala serves as a warm-up for The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports, an event that the father-daughter combination is likely to see together.
