Former Selling Sunset actress Maya Vander is expecting after suffering a loss last June.
On Thursday, ET verified the joyous news, which comes after a spate of heartbreaking miscarriages for the real estate agent. The devastating news that Vander had a miscarriage at 10 weeks was conveyed by her the year previous, only six months after she had gone through the experience of stillbirth the year before that.
Vander shared a snapshot of her son Aiden, who was just four years old at the time, dozing off in his bed on her Instagram Story at the time. The reality show star captioned the photo with the following text: “I had a pretty stressful week. After 10 weeks of pregnancy, there was a miscarriage… after my stillbirth.”
After that, Vander went on to describe how her family has helped her recover from this difficult moment, adding, “My kids and my husband are undoubtedly my blessings, and I am so fortunate to be their mother! They make my life more filled with love and happiness!!
The real estate agent, who prioritized spending time with her family, asked those who followed her on social media to “hug and love the people [they] care about” and to “not take things for granted.”
Vander also has a 3-year-old daughter named Elle, who she and her boyfriend, Dave, brought into the world in May of 2020. Aiden was born in April 2019, and Elle was born in May of 2020.
Vander broke the tragic news to her friends and family in December 2021 that she had a stillbirth with her third child, Mason, when she was 38 weeks pregnant. Vander captioned the picture on Instagram with the following: “Yesterday was the hardest day of my life.” The shot was of an empty hospital bassinet. At 38 weeks, I gave birth to a stillborn baby. I have always been aware of it, but I never dreamed that one day I would be included in the numbers. Instead of having to deliver a baby, I will be taking a memory box home with me… I hope that none of you have to go through this. What was supposed to be a routine checkup once a week evolved into a terrifying ordeal that I never expected to encounter in my life? Due to the fact that I discuss my pregnancies on the program, I was aware that I would need to make a post on this in order to sidestep the question “When is your due date?” You will never be forgotten, baby Mason. We love and miss you.
At the Selling Sunset reunion show in May 2022, the reality star revealed that she was hoping to conceive another child as a part of her healing process after the loss of her first child.
“I have my moments, that’s part of the grief, and just take this opportunity to raise my voice for stillbirth and pregnancy loss,” she added. “I believe that becoming pregnant again is a necessary part of the healing process. I certainly hope so. We’ll see.”
After completing the fifth season of the popular reality show on Netflix, Vander, who had been one of the show’s initial real estate agents, decided to leave the program.
