Bringing the fire back to life! It seems like Nelly and Ashanti are going to give their love connection another go.
According to a source who spoke with Entertainment Tonight, “Nelly and Ashanti are back together and both of them are very happy.” This news comes after they were seen spending time together in Las Vegas a month ago, which sparked suspicions that they were dating.
Towards the end of the month, Nelly, 48, and Ashanti, 42, were spotted walking through T-Mobile Arena while holding hands. The event was taking place during the Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight. During another event, the duo was filmed performing their smash hit “Body on Me,” which was captured on video and shared on social media.
ET has been informed by a second reliable source that “Nelly and Ashanti are really enjoying their time together.”
2003 marked the beginning of the singers’ romantic connection. The couple’s relationship went through many ups and downs until they finally decided to end it for good in 2013.
During an interview with ET that took place in February at the Grammys, Nelly said that the passage of time had helped heal the wounds that had been caused in the past.
ET quoted him as saying, “Time does wonders for a lot of different things,” and he was right. And time is one of those things that allows you time to reflect on what’s what.” Therefore, I believe that we both did that, and I think it’s awesome that we’re just friends.”
After Ashanti made an appearance onstage with the “Country Grammar” rapper at the Power 98.3 and 96.1’s Under the Mistletoe concert in Arizona in December, fans started to speculate about the status of their relationship after seeing the pair performing together onstage.
After the show, Ashanti made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she was questioned about how she felt about her fanbase wanting her to reconcile with the rapper.
“My reaction was ‘wow,'” she told presenter Andy Cohen about her first thoughts. “There were a lot of comments made, and a lot of people expressed interest in having that.” However, when pressed on whether or not the two were investigating the possibility of getting back together, she gave evasive answers and played coy.
