On the steps of the Met once again is Anne Hathaway! The actress, who is 40 years old and made her comeback to the Met Gala on the first Monday in May, wore a look from the Versace Icons collection for the event, which took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The heroine of “The Devil Wears Prada” looked absolutely breathtaking in the cream-colored gown that had strategic cutouts and was pinned together with gold embellishments. The ensemble was finished off with white platform shoes and long gloves that matched perfectly.

Even more exciting, Hathaway was able to catch up with her WeCrashed co-star Jared Leto, who stunned in yet another jaw-dropping outfit for the Met Gala. Leto wore a full-body, white-furred mascot costume in remembrance of Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld’s much-loved cat. Hathaway and Leto were both in attendance.

When Hathaway was co-chairing the fashion event in 2018, along with Rihanna and Amal Clooney, she was the last person to attend the event. The year’s theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & the Catholic Imagination,” and the fashion-forward diva attended the event wearing a crimson Valentino gown.

In the same year, Hathaway had a role in the film Ocean’s 8, which takes place at the Met Gala. She featured in the film with Rihanna, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, and Awkwafina. In the film, the character Debbie Ocean (Bullock) organizes an all-female squad of thieves and experts to pull off a heist at the Met Gala. Their target is the necklace of diamonds worn by the famed actress Daphne Kluger (Hathaway), which is estimated to be worth over $150 million.

Karl Lagerfeld’s whole body of work as well as his life will be honored at the Met Gala in 2023, which will be held under the subject “A Line of Beauty: Karl Lagerfeld.” The exhibition, which will be accessible to the public beginning on May 5 and will be open until July 16 of this year, will showcase 150 of Karl Lagerfeld’s designs, including those for Chanel, Balmain, Patou, Fendi, Chloe, and his own personal brand. His drawings will also be on display. Lagerfeld passed away in February 2019. He was 85.

After the theme was announced in September, it sparked backlash due to Lagerfeld’s alleged previous problematic comments, including one from 2009 in which he stated that “no one wants to see round women.” Additionally, he expressed in 2018 that he was “fed up” with the #MeToo movement.

The motto for the evening’s attire is still “in honor of Karl,” and this year’s co-chairs are Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Dua Lipa, Roger Federer, and Anna Wintour, who is the editor-in-chief of Vogue. Fundraising for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City is the primary purpose of the yearly gala.
