A few weeks ago, Eliza was brought to the City of San Bernardino Animal Services, and she has not shown much enthusiasm for her new environment. She would much prefer to be someplace with the people who will one day become her new family, whether it be snuggling on the sofa or running about outdoors, and it goes without saying that this is what everyone at the shelter hopes for her. She has had enough of being confined to a kennel, and she has made it her mission to convey this sentiment to everyone in the vicinity.
Alice Chow has been going to the animal shelter and taking pictures of the animals there for some time now, and as a result, she is able to recognize a particularly noteworthy puppy when she sees one. When she saw Eliza and what she was attempting to do, she knew she had to do what she could to assist her in locating a suitable place to live.
“Elizabeth couldn’t stop wagging her tail and whining to get my attention,” Chow told The Dodo. “She took care that I noticed her. She desired a great deal of affection from me. The only shots that came out clear were of her trying to approach me by poking her head through the holes in the damaged kennel gates.
It seemed as if Eliza had been attempting to free herself from her kennel so that she could go outside and play on her own terms. While Chow watched, she desperately tried to get someone’s attention by poking her nose through the bent bars of her kennel. Chow’s heart was immediately won over by it.

After some time had passed, Chow forwarded the photographs to a friend named Lois Chisholm. Lois, in turn, posted about Eliza on Facebook in the expectation that someone, upon seeing the post, would choose to adopt her.
According to what Chisholm posted about her on Facebook, “[She has a] very puppyish, playful spirit.”
She made sure to include all of the information that was necessary for someone to adopt Eliza, and at this point, all she can do is sit tight and keep her fingers crossed that Eliza will soon be able to permanently escape her kennel.
